Best project out 2021
I have rated this projector as the best project I’ve seen and now own .The concern raised by some about the brightness And black levels on the hdr I don’t seem to have .a good hdmi lead that is hdr hdmi 2.0 16gig quality will improve the picture quality issues I’m using one made by chord and it solves the hdr black level issue .which I did notice until I upgraded my hdmi lead .With ref to the ultra short throw set upIt is the best out there for ultra short throw .It like a tv replacement for throw distance and you don’t need to put the projector on the floor to get a good 120”image to fit with a normal height sealing which I have found that to be a problem on my Epsom projector I had before. You can place this on a normal 50cm height or 40cm height would be better .and still have a 120’ screen size to fit on the wall.I’m not using a UST projector screen just my wall and the picture quality looks as good as 4K and the brightness is good but if you are going to use this with the curtains open the A UST screen is a must. The sound is great for Normal watching but for movies get an amp and some good speakers .I’ve got mine linked up to an Apple TV 4K 2021 so and I don’t use the remote and other features that some may require and use the apps that comes with the projector .The Lumen brightness is rated at 2700 .and the Epsom ls500 is rated at 4000 ,yes I would agree that the Epsom is brighter seeing that I’ve owned them both but the positives with the positioning is more important to myself that having a few extra lumens .I just close my curtains plus I can upgrade to a UST screen if I need to. I have used a UST screen before by OPtoma I would say my experience of that screen was it was I didn’t think it was any good .With bright daylight coming through my window and it was bright.so i do think that a blind or curtain is better in some set ups and you dont have a big screen on you wall all the time .plus an ambient light screen is really was it means, its for ambient light , not bright day light coming from all direction . But that still said they do improve the picture quality to a point . But they can cost 2000 for a good 120” screen , but i did not feel i was getting that massive improvement for that price. With the one i had. I hope other makes are better.Overall I’m glad I went for the LGhu85ls after a lot of consideration with other great projector on offer .I have owned projectors for 17 years and have found this to be the best I’ve had . Things to consider (throw ratio is really important for a normal set up , like a normal TV position . ,for me next i would look at the lumens (brightness ) you need 2700 at least 4000 is better like the Epsom but that did not work as well for my setup because it was to fare from the wall impractical set up but i have seen some tv units engineer this out with a sliding drawer if you can get one or make one for normal viewing experience , yes and quality is very important with a good contrast ratio and HDR 10 ,and HDMI 2.0 and not 1.4I would say that there are some other great projectors out there but the ultra short throw with this one makes it a deal breaker for me because you can place it on a normal tv stand and fit the picture of 120” .without it being to high At a normal throw ratio with it being very close to the wall ,so this means you dont have the TV unit away from the wall and you dont have the projector on the floor. Which i think is very important when setting up and for the look of your home cinema .If you check what throw distance you need on all the other makes ,this is the best you can get. I have seen some people have sound bars or centre speakers below the projector on a tv unit so this can also work .This model which is the LS model which is the uk type which does not have a tuner built in for broadcasted tv channels the LA model is the USA type which has a built in tuner but i dont know if it works in the uk so you should check.Yes it does not come with a manual , but i had watch video clips online and set up reviews .easy to find and you can download the manual if you need i but it is really easy to set up and i had mine set up in one minute.I hope you find this review helpful i have put in the time to type this because it is hard sometimes to decide what item to go for when you are spending 1000’s i will add some photos when my new tv unit arrives .also i have added some B&W speaker stands since the photos were taken .

Not as good as we thought it would be.
A very expensive projector - not in the same league as Samsung, which is why we sent it back. There seemed to be a fault on the picture also.

still the best UST projector in 2022
Projector has been on the market for a while but still probably in top 3 UST projectors currently on the market. Implementation of smart features is great, no need to have 3rd party HDMI stick hooked up. Picture is great thanks to 0.67" chip which is very rarely installed now. LG claim 2700 ANSI brightness but I compared to LSP9T from Samsung with 2800 and LG seem to be brighter. Highly recommended even in 2022.

Great although has a couple of draw backs
Great product but lacks 120fps, Dolby vision and len shift options. Also the while in daylight the picture fine, in a blacked out room it is amazing!
