Amazing fragrance

I had never smelled this- I only ordered it because i LOVE Gres Cabotine Green (pear). This fragrance, Cabotine Gold, opens with a blast of sandalwood when you spray, almost like a man's cologne. Then it mellows to a nice smoky, somewhat spicy scent but very light. Does not last, and you can only catch a whiff of sandalwood later on. Probably good for a work scenario with lots of people in a small space, because it is so mild.

I'm not huge on perfumes. I may have 5 bottles maybe. I like the blue, green, and this gold cabotine. Nice and light once or airs out a little I'm good. Soft scent to wear daily and not drive others crazy.

I really wanted to like Cabotine Gold. What with beautiful packaging and the signature Cabotine bottle with a prettygold floral bomb, I was so disappointed in this fragrance! I have tried both a free sample and have ordered the full bottle. Sadly, the best way I can describe this fragrance is it smells like something that’s been sitting on the shelf for so long that it now has that stale alcohol scent. I thought at first that it must have been the free sample I ordered, but nope- this is exactly how it smells! At best, it smells like something that wants to mimic Bob Mackie’s “Iridescent”, like something that sparkles and floats once it’s been sprayed onto the skin and aerated, but I’m afraid this fragrance truly has no magic that lasts. It just makes me nauseous! I ended up throwing it away after a few uses. It wasn’t for lack of trying with this one!
