Powerful And Quiet
Extremely powerful, quickly breaking down large amounts of frozen fruit. Pretty quiet low freq sound, not the high pitched whirring that drills into your head. I had a Vitamix that I never used as it was too bulky. I store the blender under the cabinet and slide it out from under, then slide it back. The Vitamix was like a tank. This blender is pretty heavy but has slots on the bottom sides that make it much easier to stick your fingers in and slide than the Vitamix. Love the durable plastic jug that is light and cleans up easily inside, with large sturdy blades. Super attractive for a blender!

Obsessed
I am obsessed with this blender. It works great with ice and my smoothies. I bought the individual extension since the one it comes with is so large. The cleaning feature is magical. It practically cleans itself. I researched for a good two hours on the blender I wanted after my ninja and am glad i went with this.

Powerful blender!
I’m not sure why there are so many bad reviews, it almost kept me from purchasing this blender but I love my KitchenAid stand mixer so I decided to get this to match. It’s by far the best blender I’ve ever used—it’s heavy and feels durable. I’ve been making smoothies, salsas, and açaí bowls almost every day since it arrived. The presets for crushing ice and blending drinks are awesome and work great! It also has specially designed blades that pull the contents down so everything is always evenly blended. The only con I have is that it’s very loud but it is a POWERFUL blender so I don’t mind. I also think for the price it should come with a glass pitcher vs plastic. The gear that turns the blade is plastic and I worry about longevity but time will tell. Overall very pleased with this blender!

Good product, poor quality control
Well functioning product. I read a few reviews stating the operation of the device is difficult, it seems fairly simple to use from my point of view. My only negative comment is about the aesthetics of the blender. The silver band around the base wasn’t secured and contributed to the overall appearance of being cheaply made. Although the price certainly doesn’t reflect that.

Excellent contemporary design.
We love this blender. Used one on vacation and just received ours from Amazon. Well packaged. The base is heavy and stable. The carafe is a thicker heavier plastic. Seems like it will last. Has a commercial look to it which we like esthetically. The blender cocktails 🍸 will be flowing tonight!

Expensive Piece of Junk
After much research I purchased this blender in November of 2019. I was considering the Vitamix or the Blendtec machines, but settled on this one because it seemed like a sturdy machine that compared, but at a lower price. The positive reviews for this machine helped me make my final decision to buy it.When I opened the box I immediately liked the machine. It was very attractive. It was heavy and seemed like a solid machine that would last a long time. When reading the reviews of comparable machines, the negative reviews contained comments and images of broken pitchers and described plastic bits winding up in the blended food, so when I began using my new Kitchen Aid machine I kept this in mind.I never used ice in the machine and never put pieces in that would break the pitcher or slow down the motor. When using the machine I would always gently pulse the food several times first to break up the food before raising the speed to blend. I was very, very careful so the blender would last a long time.I used the blender less than 20 times in November and December 2019. I liked it and it worked well enough.I bought the machine to make smoothies but that only lasted a few weeks and so almost a year passed before the blender was used again. My wife used the blender about a week ago (November 2020). She used only liquid ingredients to make a salad dressing, and was gentle with it. The machine made a terrible grinding sound and after cleaning out the pitcher we found the blade component had loosened up and was flopping around the bottom of the pitcher. It was melted and shredded and plastic was in our food. Please see the pictures I uploaded.I tried inquiring about a replacement part at the Kitchen Aid website with no luck. I was on hold for almost an hour before I gave up. I tried the chat with no luck. The website parts page was no help either. It seems I am now stuck with an expensive machine I barely used and is now worthless. As you can imagine, I do not recommend this machine or the Kitchen Aid company. We were a big fan of Kitchen Aid products for many years and many of our appliances are from this company. After the experience with this product and the impossible experience at the Kitchen Aid site this will be the last time we buy from this company.

Yeah, it's as good as a Vitamix
I've had this blender for over a year now, and it is my favorite blender by far.We have a vitamix I've used at work for years, and this matches it in blending power and consistency for sure. It is easier to clean since the bottom of the blender is a bit wider, making it easier to scoop food out of it. It has a self-clean mode that works well. It is loud for sure, but so are most of the blenders I've used. I've used this blender 2-3 times a week for a year and it is simple and easy. As far as the folks complaining about the controls, I just don't get it. If you want to blend like on a vitamix, you select your blend speed on the 0-5 range and blend. If you want to make a smoothie, you select smoothie and push the start button. It has a built in timer and stops when it's done. Want to crush ice? Select ice crush. That's seriously all you have to do. It doesn't get much easier than this folks. I guess people either refuse to read a quick guide or won't do anything their smartphone doesn't control for them.I definitely recommend this blender for anyone looking to spend less than Blendtec or Vitamix but able to spend enough for a premium blender. I am not paid by kitchenaid and bought this myself.

Great blender
I researched a lot of blenders before deciding on the KitchenAid K400. I wanted a blender that was powerful enough but also looked aesthetically nice. I bought the pale blue model. It makes great smoothies, crushes ice quickly and blends food to a beautiful smooth texture. Also really love the wash / clean setting on it.

Kitchen Aid KSB4027PA K400 - Muy satisfecho

Wow ... no complaints here. Totally recommended but wait for the sale price!
So I just made two perfect Margaritas with the push of a button. I’ve had a few in my lifetime and the blended texture of these was amazing ... cheers! As for the blender ... it’s a solid unit. The cup is not glass as some have commented. A glass one can be ordered but the one included is plastic (56oz). Heavy, solid plastic so I have no complaint. It won’t shatter.Rotated to the right, the dial control takes you from pulse (turned furthest to the left ), off, speeds 1 through 5, then the preset cycles (which I love), crushed ice, icy beverage (my margarita), smoothies, and self clean. For the margaritas, with my ingredients in the cup, I turned the dial from left to right to the icy drink preset, and pressed the “play” button which started the cycle of alternating speeds from low to high over about 30 seconds, that turned all the ingredients (24 ice cubes, 4oz tequila, 2 oz triple sec, 2 oz lime juice, 2 oz simple syrup, sprinkle of kosher salt) into an amazingly smooth, almost fluffy cocktail enjoyed by all.My son has made impressive smoothies with frozen fruit, fresh bananas.and yoghurt. Again the “smoothie” cycle varied speeds for superb blending results.Clean up consists of rinsing and half filling the container with warm water and 2 drops of soap. The “cleaning” cycle alternates speeds and provides cleaning results similar to our dishwasher. All around an excellent product. Powerfully crushes ice and blends to make anyone look like a cocktail wizard. I’d recommend!

I am brand biased but for a reason
I've owned several blenders in my life, and the only one that didn't disappoint was a kitchen aid. When my old kitchen aid broke, I thought I'd try a Ninja.ended up returning the ninja, and bought this model. Night and Day...What I look for in blender. easy to use and low maintenance.High up on easy to use. And so easy to clean.blends wonderfully, and crushes ice to make perfect slushy drinks (with and without alcohol). In terms of noise level. It is a blender after all. So it does get loud when blending ice. Also it is a bit louder when it goes into high speed mode.Really appreciate the thought that goes into design. To allow the container to be stored upside on the base for low clearance kitchen space and to let the parts be moved from sink strainer to continue to air dry when not fully dry.
