Excel FES410 Takasago Silver 18" x 2.15" 36h Rim

For the price, this was a good deal. If it was at full retain pricing (~$200) it would be getting a much lower rating. The quality in Excel rims has not been that great in the last few years (compared to a Sun rim for instance). There is a significant amount of hop and wobble in the rim itself, and this cannot be fully trued out. The weld area is the worst offender by far, and the sidewalls of the rim are the next. We are generally able to get the total hop and true to within 1mm-1.5mm. For instance a Sun rim will lace up to under 0.25mm of hop and true. Since this rim is going on the back of a woods bike, the amount of wobble and hop will be okay for the intended purpose.

Exactly what it says it is, seems to be genuine. Haven't really abused it yet but I'll change review if it's subpar. I'm happy
