Responsive, pleasingly tactile keyboard
I bought this during Prime Day. My previous keyboard was a TT Sports Commander by Thermal Take. I've had two of them, I really rate them as keyboards, and I'm keeping it as a back up in case something goes wrong with this Havit one.As someone else has remarked, the Havit comes nicely boxed. And that's good, it creates a good first impression, but the box is only a passing thing, really, isn't it?So, the first thing that struck me when I got it out was how small it was compared to the TT Sports. See the photo that goes with this review. The TT Sports have a lot of border around it, which takes up desk space, the the Havit... just doesn't. And I like that. The footprint it basically the keys. More desk space is free. Winner. The lights are fine. There are far more options than I will ever need. I just had them on. They're great. You can adjust the brightness. The typing... Now, this is the meat. My focus is typing (a mix of coding and text), and I'm loving it. Volume-wise, it's about the same as the commander, but the sound is different. The commander made a dull thudding kind of noise. The Havit makes a crisp, clear "click". You can't stealth type. It's a nice noise, though. I'm working at home, and the family have remarked that it's audible, but they have not complained about it.The feel of the keys is great. Again, the Commander (mainly because not mechanical, but possibly also because it was old and contains several kilos of my dead skin) felt a bit mushy. It was pleasant to type with, but the Havit is next level. There's a very definite "stop" point when you hit the key, and the travel down to that point is easy and free. And, of course, it makes the pleasing click sound when you get there.I'm less convinced about the mouse. It looks great, and the DPI adjustment button is good. I;m probably just getting used to it, but I fear that my TT Sports mouse was on a DPI setting between two of the ones that the Havit runs on, so I'm still adapting. EDIT: I found out why the mouse felt weird. I left the removable plastic strips (which protect the feet during transport) in place. Just peeled them off, now it feels great. It's my first mech keyboard. I'm sold. I really umm'd and ahhh'd for a long time before buying a keyboard in this price bracket, but thanks to the sale, I have, and I will probably stick with mech (and maybe even with Havit) from now on.

Fantastic budget mechanical keyboard and mouse with stunning lighting effects
The media could not be loaded. Keyboard:This is probably the best mechanical keyboard if you're on a budget. The blue switches have a distinctive and responsive keypress and the plate behind the keys is metal, giving it a premium feel. The range of lighting effects is impressive, featuring a total of 21 settings including the "off" mode. Each of these settings can also be further personalised through the options to change the speed and brightness of the LEDs. There is also the option to "record" a backlight, allowing the user to specify exactly which keys should light up. The preset "office" lights just the letter keys, while the two gaming presets, "fps" and "rts" light up different sets of keys. The keycaps are removeable, made easier with the included tool, allowing extensive cleaning of the keycaps and switches. It should be noted that each individual LED always remains the same colour, i.e the "a" key will always be red, and is turned on and off to create the patterns. The overall quality of the keyboard is excellent, with a braided cord and metal backplate. The 18 month warranty is a bonus, should there ever be a problem.Mouse:The mouse is fairly large compared to most others, which for me is perfect, and fits into my hand. Unlike others, my fingers do not extend over the end of the left and right click, which is a great design. The left and right sides of it are textured for a better grip. The mouse also has the same cord type as the keyboard. The scroll wheel I found was a little mushy; I prefer it to be slightly clicky, but that is just preference. The lighting of the mouse is also excellent, however it has fewer options than the keyboard, which is to be expected. However, there is software which allows you to personalise the lights with many more options.I bought this product on a lightning deal, but still recommend buying at its full price. The only improvement I would add is the option to change the lighting of the keyboard from your PC, in a similar way to the mouse.

Great for gaming
I finally decided to get a Mechanical Keyboard as I wanted something with RGB so I could see the keys at night which makes it easier for gaming when playing csgo or call of duty. The keyboard mechanical side is decent. if you compare it to a Razor brand its exactly the same feel and durability at a much reduced cost. The RGB modes are nice on the mouse, the keyboard has LED backlight, with 21 different pre-setting options to choose from. each one ive used for different games so its a preference on which sets well with the user. For gaming this is a recommending must buy. especially if your on a budget for your gaming set up. I also use this keyboard when im editing during long nights and makes it easier on the eyes when im editing for long periods. The mouse is alright, not the best for csgo but its good for all other uses, but its a no for me for gaming. the mouse is the only issue for me, the keyboard is amazing, but sadly the mouse it not for me. already it feels warn on its last leg. when I shake it I can feel a rattle inside, like theres a ball loose.Giving this a 4/5 stars rating, due to the mouse. but I would recommend buying a new mouse and replacing it with this. You can still get a cheap set up rig and it beats buying expensive brands for the same result, plus if you rage you wont have to worry about damaging a expensive rig.
