Luigi Bormioli Michelangelo 68 oz Wine Decanter, 1 Piece, Clear

Beautiful decanter. Very nice simple design but good quality!

This is a great decanter for agitating young or tight wines as the punt in the bottom allows you to aggressively stir the wine and introduce lots of air. My only complaint is that it is a little difficult to pour the last amount in the decanter. You have to turn the vessel almost completely upside down which makes damaging fine glasses an issue. That said after a couple of bottles you can easily grasp the proper technique. I'm not sure what type of glass is used in this decanter, but it seems to be some sort of hybrid, as the weight is not what you would expect for a pure glass item this size and it has a little different sound when you strike it.

I purchased 2 of these at the same time. These things are beautiful. They seem very heavy and sturdy. HOWEVER AND A BIG BUT, the sides of these are weaker than any piece of glass I have ever owned. Within one week, I barely tapped the side of the first decanter against something in the sink and it broke open. Over the next couple of weeks, I used the other one. Again, I barely touched the side to something and it cracked. I highly recommend not buying this.

This particular decanter must have had a manufacturing defect. It cracked after one use and the one inch piece that broke off was paper thin if not thinner. While the decanter itself is a nice size and shape, I'm wary of ordering another given my experience combined with others that I've read.

This is a very broad-based, highly effective wine aerator that is reasonably priced, looks great and works well. It's easy to pour holding the punt and feels comfortable in your hands. Unfortunately, it's also very fine glass and overly fragile. We used it once or twice a week for about two months and then, with just a tiny bump against a pan after washing, it shattered on the side (just broke a hole in the glass).We've had our Luigi Bormioli wine glasses for a long time and found them to very, very sturdy, even when we were more careless than we should be, which is why we purchased this decanter. And even though we were very careful with the decanter, it just didn't hold up to regular use.

We get nothing but compliments when using the decanter. This is an excellent value and my "vinturi" fits perfectly in the neck. The oenophila drying stand works perfectly with this. Simply rinse after use and place on the drying stand.

Looks nice and seems pretty well-made. We gave it as a wedding gift for a couple that loves wine with some other wine items.

This is a great item for a nice value. So far I really like this item. It arrived very well packed with bubble wrapping and little possibility of breakage. I would buy this again.

Looks really cheap, wouldn't recommend to anyone.
