These came well packaged, and with the needed screws to attach to both the rails/skirts and the table top. They are sturdy little pieces of metal that do a simple job well. I'm not sure if anyone could mess up such a simple design; but this manufacture did not. The holes were properly milled on both sides where a screw it supposed to go through to attach to the table. One side is flat and the other is convex, denoting which side should go to the apron/top and which should be exposed. The holes were countersunk which is a nice added bonus so the screws sit flush or slightly below the top. I haven't seen any noticeable defects on any of the pieces, and they have been sturdy in all of the moving and holding of the table by the top. They are comparatively the correct size as listed... Though I feel it might have been beneficial to have one side being slightly smaller than the other. As these are not necessarily visible items, unless you're looking for them, they are shiny, silver, smooth pieces of metal. But it's their utility that stands out. The only caveat I have with this item is only related to them by association, and not a defect of the product itself... This being the need to chisel out the edges after using the forstner bit to create the recess the product sits. I feel if one side were smaller it could potentially create more range in a smaller space to accommodate the potential expansion and contraction of the top. With that being said, I've had no issues with these and as of this review, I would gladly purchase these for my next similar project.

The product is as advertised. The steel is very strong. While we describe it as a “figure 8” hold down, it’s really more of a “snowman” figure. The top is 5/8” in diameter and the bottom fatter side is 3/4” in diameter. I found that using the smaller side on the table apron side works better because it gives more distance to allow the wood movement across the grain. I read that some folks had problems with the screws. I did not find that to be the case at all. I pre-drilled holes into the Cypress apron then put candle wax on the screw. I hand screwed them in carefully and straight, and it all worked out great. Bottom line, I would absolutely buy this product again.

I like the quality of the brackets and the screws included. I thought the price was good and that the quantity was right as I often run into a project that needs figure 8 brackets and they are not available within 60 miles of where I live. I used 1" screws in place of those in the packet for fastening the bracket to the base. The top of the project table is hickory and strong enough to use the 3/4" screws included, but the base is poplar and thick enough to use the 1" screws for a more secure attachment. That's not the fault of the brackets, but a need of the project where they were used this time.

These do what they are supposed to do but compared to some that cost more the quality is lacking. Seems like the stamping process is not consistent. Some had holes off-centered and some ragged edges. They will hold the tops in place so function is okay.

It is just as described. I am using them on some small tables today.

These are a good values and worked just as they should. Could not be papery with the product. Even the screws were good quality.

Used these to attach the top to my workbench. Simple to use. I saw one review that said that the countersink didn't allow the screw to sit flush with the top of the fastener. I didn't have that issue. There's at least one hole where the countersink will allow the top of the screw to be flush. It was the same hole on all of mine, so I'm assuming that's the design.
