I couldn't find any salts cheaper than this
This were the cheapest brand of cichlid salts I could find and coming from an long established name in the aquaculture industry I wasn't worried about poor quality. They seem to help bring out the colors of my Africans moreso than I would have imagined. I'd say, for the money, this is a worthwhile purchase to supplement your African cichlid water chemistry so long as you don't use live plants.

My fish actually reviewed this and they say its good to go
This is one of the key things you can add to your aquarium water if you have an African Cichlid tank. The fish seem to be happier with its addition.Doesn't affect larger plants not sure on the smaller ones like dwarf grass etc.

What's in it?
The company does not disclose the ingredients so that makes it hard to assess if this product is worth the money. For that reason, I can only give it 3 stars. I would have given it 3.5 is possible. It does increase gH, kH and pH effectively. There are many similar products available that do the same thing and tell you what you're putting in the water. This one is cheaper than most of them.Directions are 1 tablespoon per 5 gallons. (Dissolve in a fish-safe container of tank water then pour into your tank.)Averaging a tablespoon of salt at around 17 grams, this container of 2288 grams will yield roughly 135 tablespoons to treat about 670 gallons. For a 55 gallon tank, that's about 12 tanks full of water. My water leaves the tap at around 7.4 with a hardness of about 10. I use a teaspoon per 5 gallons and achieve a hardness of around 20 and a pH of about 7.8. Perfect for my Peacocks. I've noticed no instability or fluctuation of these parameters. For drastic changes I suggest crushed coral which serves as a constant buffer and source of water-hardening minerals. It's cheap, natural, and the change is gradual so as not to shock the fish.Didn't mean to get all nerdy, but I was not able to find much info on this product so I figured this could help someone. :)Happy fishkeeping

I'm sure..
that this isnt much use for me but my fish seem to be really happy and content so I believe it doesnt harm anything to have this for your pet fish.

Hard as a rock
I have purchased this many times previously with no issue but this time it literally took me 5 minutes to break off 1 cup of salt. It is hard as a rock??
