The Feather Mandolin Pickup with Flexible Micro-Gooseneck by Myers Pickups

LOVE this pickup! I play violin in a folk band, and have been using Myers Feather Pickup for more than a year now. The sound is amazing, it is so simple and quick to install (see picture) and it stays in place easily for hours at our gigs. It comes with many options for installation in the box, and I chose to install it with a single clip on my chin-rest - simple and effective.My band tried on many different pickups before, but we all liked the sound and simplicity of Myers Feather Pickup so much that we all got them (7 units), so now we have all instruments covered, even our accordion sounds great with Feather-2 dual mic version.Finally, I could not give more praise to their customer service. You get 2-year warranty for all purchases and when one of our pickups started to develop a contact problem due to us bending the mic a bit too sharply, we contacted the customer service and were sent a new one in 2 days! I first started using the Myers Feather pickups in 2017 and have performed with them on my Mandolin, Accordion, Dobro, and Acoustic Guitar, and even with my Fiddler has one! They are easy to place on the instruments (I like the little spring loaded clip the best) produce a nice clear tone that is easy to manage, and they don't scream instantly when a little monitor mix is applied. You don't need an additional pre-amp, but they do sit well in an effects chain with a little chorus or a boost for some headroom. I also found that adding them into a recording mix helped to get a little organic instrument sound in addition to the main condenser.

This is an excellent microphone pick up. Very faithful reproduction of mandolin tone. It takes some experimenting to find the best position. With the f hole mandolin I found it is best placed in the f hole closest to tailpiece and clipped to the tailpiece. Excellent customer support. Terrific product.

I like the sound and after playing with options on hookup, found one that worked best. Its a good pickup for the money. I adjust the sound with my amp and pedals. this just basically works like a mic. I would recommend.

This microphone/pickup amplifies all the great natural tones of my mandolin. I highly recommend it. Also the customer service is great!

I’ve tried many pickups for my banjo, and ended up finding that the Feathers mic produced the most authentic sound. The customer service was great too. Highly recommend!

Videos showing this pick up are bs. It was difficult to assemble and fit my mando like garbage. Buy a baggs radius. 100% better!

Really is a good idea. Purchased for a wood mandolin. I do not play super clean and use the body for percussion accents, no good, picks up way too much body noise... Tried it on my upright bass for recording. Went back to a regular mic coupled with a transducer PU. Very awkward to hold the volume / preamp if you move at all. Now I am sure that this PU is perfect for someone, possible most people - just not for me... It is back in its box in the closet and will try sometime on wife's violins, but suspect it might be noisy there too. If I have to stay pretty much still, I will use a fixed mic as always...UPDATE***I have changed my review to 5 stars. This is a business that truly cares about its customers. Greg Meyers has worked diligently with me to resolve my issues. UNBELIEVABLE customer support. Greg got in touch with me directly (without me prompting) to resolve and is shipping out a different mounting system to try. I will update as things unfold. I am confident that my issue will in all probability be resolved, and really cannot belive how much the owner cares about satisfaction with their product.
