Felco, they have always been the elite and most reliable of tools of the horticultural trade and continue to be too. Precision Swiss made quality, ease of use and probably the less stress on hands to use for any project you have. These are sharp and do the job and able to put force into those handles where stubborn branches once got in your way. Lightweight comfort and above all Felco provides value for money on all their products however or wherever you use them. Beware the blades are extremely sharp.

Well made and cuts cleanly with the minimum of effort. Although on the upper end of prices for loppers, you get a high quality product which is made for long term use.

So, I am a professional commercial gardener and I needed a compact set of loppers to carry in my toolbag. This is a solid and well made tool, fit for daily use and good for several years at least. All the parts are replaceable. The tool is rated at 40mm capacity or thereabouts although this will only be for softer material. The blade cuts cleanly on hard or fibrous wood, a common failing with most domestic tools. The short handles means a fair amount of force will be required but this is probably a good thing as the hinge bolt is the first component to wear and the same mechanism is also used on the 60cm set.

The quality of these longer handled pruners is first class in every respect. The handles are solid aluminium, which gives a combination of light weight and strength. The cutters are sharp steel and replaceable. I have damaged shoulders, so these longer handled pruners are perfect for me.

Firstly, I am a great fan of Felco. I own 2 number 7 and one number 13. I bought these to prune a magnolia for one of my clients. They are supposed to cut 1.4ins. They, or rather I struggled to cut 3/4 inches. To be honest, my number 13 was better up to the task. However, I will keep the loppers for relatively small but precise pruning.

Very high quality. Pleasure to use. Very light. Great in my small orchard. Carbon steel blades so keep light coat of oil on them when not in use to prevent corrosion.

These + a pair of Felco classic pruners I purchased new in April & May. They are are well worth the money. Tomorrow is Halloween & I've been using them a LOT to aggressively thin and remove a lot of overgrowth from a neglected back yard. I had already ruined my old Fiscars. These Felcos are more expensive, but buying them once is way less expensive than buying cheaper ones over and over. They're stronger, too, much easier on my body and less time consuming to use. I'm taking down trash trees and overgrown privet with a small chain saw, then using these to cut and trim 1- 2" limbs for my wood chipper. Sometimes, I've had to lay them on the ground and push down with both hands to cut thru. Unlike with other loppers I've used, the only limiting factor with Felco, besides the appropriate size limb, is my own human strength.
