I am so glad I was able to find this! I also bought the other enhanced anti wrinkle cream this company sells. This brand has been known to have pure and effective products. This used to be sold in stores a while back. This was in the 90's and my mom always bought this brand. One day is just vanished off the shelves! I am in my twenties now and I am trying to prevent and decrease fine lines. This lotion can sometimes make your face red from it. I have attached a picture of my mom when she was 48 and was using this stuff for years already. This was the only product my mom said she used. I am so happy I was able to find this and purchase this at a great price. It really is a great brand and is not too expensive. I like that.One thing that needs to remembered when using this is to wear sunscreen!! You don't want to burn! Alpha hydroxy makes the skin more susceptible to sun damage.I would recommend this product to anyone wanting to prevent their skin from aging faster or to reduce lines that have already appeared. I don't think many people know about this brand anymore. It's our little anti aging secret in my family. I think other people should know about too. I hope my review was helpful!

This is a really good product that, in my opinion, everyone should have, along with benzoyl peroxide. I have fair skin that's pretty sensitive and this does a great job of getting rid of the odd pimple. It does it's job very well, but it has a two downsides.The first downside is that it's strong. It definitely can burn your face, especially if you apply it too often or with something like benzoyl peroxide. Applying it more than once a day generally makes the spot I applied it at red. Applying it and benzoyl peroxide in the same day will make my skin dry up and peel off (along with any pimples). Other peoples' skin may react differently, but this makes it extremely good for getting rid of pimples quickly, even if it's a bit uncomfortable and can leave you with red patches.The second downside is that it expires quickly. If you only use it for spot treatment, like I do, the tube will outlast it's expiration date (which isn't printed). You can tell when it expires, because it won't burn and it will generally just leave a greasy film on your skin.

I purchased this product primarily because I needed an exfoliant. I had been using physical exfoliation (via a boar bristle brush) as my means of exfoliation, but I've never noticed any marked difference in my skin, so I'm turning to chemical exfoliation - alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs), in particular. I selected AHAs (glycolic acid is the AHA in this product) because in addition to exfoliation, it is also excellent for anti-aging in that it improves dermal thickness and the collagen density of the skin. I'm in my mid-late 20s, so I'm at a crucial point as far as anti-aging is concerned.Although it will take much longer to evaluate the anti-aging aspect of this product, I'm very impressed with the way my skin looks and feels the morning after I use it. My skin has never been so soft. The brush I was using to exfoliate is nothing compared to the effects of this product. I've stopped using it altogether. I definitely get that stereotypical "glow" that everyone hopes they have after trying a new product. Being African American, one of the biggest benefits I've noticed is that marks from pimples, which ordinarily come in very dark, do not come in so dark, nor do they take nearly as long to fade.Admittedly, I did have a minor breakout (two moderately-sized pimples) when I first used this product. I could tell that they were pimples that were just waiting to come to the surface; this product just sped up the process. Having researched this product before trying it, I expected to see some pimples, but it actually wasn't nearly as bad as I expected it to be.I wouldn't advise using this product in the morning. For one thing, AHAs increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun. If you were to use it in the morning, you would need a good sunscreen to avoid sunburn, hyperpigmentation, and an increased susceptibility to wrinkles. (Even if you don't wear it in the morning, you'll still need sunscreen because your skin remains photosensitive for about a week after you've stopped using it.) Secondly, because this product exfoliates, you end up with white dead skin on your face after about half an hour. When putting on moisturizer after using this product, you can actually feel the dead skin rolling into balls underneath your fingers. I would guess that the white dead skin is more visible on ethnic skin tones (such as my own), but I don't think it would be a good look on anyone. I only use the product at night, so it makes no difference to me, but it might be bothersome to others. You might be able to wipe away all of the dead skin with a wet cloth after waiting about 20 minutes for the product to do its job.I consider this product a crucial product in my skincare regimen and I will certainly be back for more.

I found out about this product by reading a blog. Good value for price. I use it twice a day under moisturizer on my face, neck, and chest and it helps to reduce breakouts. I have very sensitive skin and other OTC acne control products were not working or were causing dryness and rashy areas (salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide). Most of the time when I apply this, it feels like I am applying a neutral gel, but sometimes there is a slight sting, especially if I have a blemish. It goes away quickly and this product has not made my pale skin red or irritated, even with some sun exposure. I think it is also contributing to an overall smoother look to my skin. I have repurchased this product several times on Amazon. One bottle lasts about 5-6 weeks. Product is not tested on animals, but I have not confirmed the source of the sodium lactate, and it does contain parabens (preservatives linked to cancer).
