Star Wars: Rebels - Season 2 [DVD]

Fantastic Season of REBELS!
The second season is pretty dark for the heroes, but it was exciting to view. I was jazzed to see Vader in more scenes and to hear James Earl Jones's distinctive voice. Vader is the bad guy you love to watch. I for one could have done without having D. Maul win a victory and was floored by some of chilling events in the episodes, especially pertaining to Kanan & Asohka. I am waiting with bated breath for Season three and to revel in how it all turns out. I appreciate the Extras/ Bonus features, like Rebels Recon, but I agree with a previous customer who stated, they could have allowed us more interviews with the cast , writers, etc. The series is addictive and you feel like you need more and more info/back story. My only pet peeve is have to stack the 2nd/3rd BD on top of each other in the case. The box/case cover with Darth Vader is simply smashing. My Amazon pet peeve was that pre-order was only open to Prime members, what's with that? Wal-Mart had a cheaper price after the release date. Otherwise, it has been lots of viewing pleasure owning the series.

Wow
This is Rebels at some of its best. Yes, Vader makes an appearance or 3 or so, but the storytelling is good even without Mister Black Suit. And we get more of a certain former Padawan. Won't lie, her official appearance the end of season 1 was enough to put me close to tears as it was good to know she made it through a certain Order 'hashtag.'

As Much Fun As Any of the Movies
Fine voice acting pulls everything together for all the episodes. But with the animation, backgrounds and details that are more felt than seen, there wasn't far to go for a finished product. Deep, well written stories that tie in well with the original Star Wars universe didn't hurt either. My copy arrived in a single soft case, wrapped in a cardboard cover containing 2 discs each on it's own spindle on the front and back insides.

A worthwhile Season 2!
Another good season! Hard to top a Twi'Lek woman punching Lando Calrissian in the, uh, *midsection*, but they managed to keep the laughs, thrills, and feels coming. I really like this crew and the way the story is running.Addendum: The 3rd disc in the set had some funky encoding that gave my computer's blu-ray drive some trouble. My actual Blu-ray player had no problem, just the one in my computer. This isn't a big enough problem for me to downgrade my rating, but it's something to consider if you do not have a conventional BRDVD player.

What an improvement on season one. Season two just ...
What an improvement on season one. Season two just blows the doors off! More of everything they got right with season one plus a bunch of new surprises.

Amazing, if dark, season.
This season is half New Hope and half Empire in terms of Star Wars. Long story short, it's darker than the first season, great characters and locations (including a few from Legends!), and Vader was done very, very well. Possibly my favorite season in Rebels.

Brilliant storytelling
While Rebels softens up on the violence (Disney style) the allegory is though the roof. The story writing if phannominal. A must watch for all Star Wars fans.Buy it. Watch it. Love it.

AWESOME
Love the series. This season is great. However it's even better if you watched the clone wars. They bring back Ahsoka Tano who was Anakin Skywalker's apprentice in the Clone Wars. That's all I'll say. You can see her on the cover in the photo so it's not a spoiler. I enjoyed The Clone Wars and Rebels a lot more than the 3 prequel movies. If you are a Star Wars fan then you need this series and Clone Wars.

Darth Vader is back!
I am reviewing the blu ray disc set. The case contains 3 action packed blu rays. Crystal clear picture and great sound. No Spoilers: I really liked the first season but the second one is seriously incredible. In my opinion Season 2 is even better than the first one. The series is getting darker! Every episode offers lots of action and an incredible storyline. The animation has a much more visually realistic feel. And the light saber duels are much better! However it's even better if you watched and liked the clone wars. They bring back Ahsoka Tano who was Anakin Skywalker's apprentice in the Clone Wars. That's all I'll say. I would have paid the full price just to watch the final double feature: "Twilight of the Apprentice" (Darth Vader vs. Ahsoka Tano) Simply said: absolutely brilliant and a must see for everyone who is a Star Wars fan. It is intensely emotional, a true masterpiece. The season finale leaves you begging for more. I never thought this would come anywhere close to being as good as Clone Wars, but it's on it's way with each episode and getting better! All in all, the whole show is fantastic and every Star Wars fan needs to watch it. Recommended!

Great entertainment , includes many familiar characters
Excellent series of 37 just-under-30 minute episodes, very true to the original Star Wars series. One of the main attraction is the return Darth Vader at the beginning of the season WITH James Earl Jones’ voice. Vader is in great shape here, badass and as evil as he can get. Moreover, if you were wondering after the Clone Wars series, what happened to Anakin’s former apprentice Ahsoka, you’ll get your answers here. Also from the Clone Wars this season brings back an aged Captain Rex!. Princess Leia in her younger yeas is also neatly blended into the story line. As is Darth Maul and many fan’s favourites; the Mandalorians..But the main thing for our children remains the presence of Ezra Bridger and Sabine, who they adore. These heroes are now a little older and have evolved as characters. And what I do like is that in contrast with the Clone Wars the characters in Rebels are more appealing and show companionship as seen in the original movie trilogy.Visually and in terms of scenes this season looks perhaps better than the previous one. Every episode looks sharp and sounds great. Really glad to have watched it on Blu ray with the Blu-ray resolution bringing out great textures and detail. The extras are a bit limited. Two brief featurettes : one about easter eggs in the season, and another featuring mini-commentary from producer Filoni. The rest is episodes of the YouTube recap show "Rebels Recon,".To conclude; great set for the whole family. For 485 minutes total run time for everything on the discs – this was quite good value.

Fantastic!
All Star Wars animated series are great.Animation in rebels is not as good as Clone Wars imo but still good with great story telling and great strong characters.DF is a master story teller. Far, far superior to the awful story telling in TLJ, which was just cack - RJ hold your head in shame!

an improvement on season one
I wasn't that impressed with season one, the animation style wasn't that adventurous and I wasn't too impressed with the main characters. This season the characters are a bit better and they bring in quite a few favourites from the Clone Wars and the story telling improves. Not essential but not bad.

I still don't understand that but the last few episodes of this series have been some of the best SW I ever
Why does Vader want to kill Ahsoka? I still don't understand that but the last few episodes of this series have been some of the best SW I ever saw
