Well made great buy
I purchased 4 different version of this adapter for my Sony NEX-7. I have posted the same review for all 4 of them. 1- Contax- G2, The fit is great on both camera and lense side and I did not notice any IQ degradation. The focus ring initially was a bit hard to work. Partly because the ring is close to the body and there is not much room. The lense also requires some torque to move the internal parts. But after I played with it attached to the lens but off the camera it losend up. Take your time attaching the lense to the adapter not to damage the focusing mechanism. Those of you who have this lense know why. I just wanted to remind you. 2- Canon, The fit on the camera side has a bit of rotational play but dose not seems to effect the Proformance the lense side is perfect. I dont have recent canon lenses. My canon lens is very old, 70's 50 mm 1.4, no issue with the IQ. This was the first lense I ever bought. With a AT1 body. 3- Leica M39, Both side fit is great but some some color aberrations on the edges. Not sure if I can fix it in LR. 4- Nikon, The fit is great on both side. Great IQ no issues at all. I have an extensive collection of AFS and AF 2.8 and pro quality lenses as well as some kit lenses that I have collected as they came with backup cameras I purchased from time to time. So far any one that I have tried worked with out any issues. Over all the adapters are well made and great buy. Hope this help...

Fotodiox Canon FD to Sony NEX mount adapter
Sometimes you can go home again. With this adapter I am using my breech mount Canon FD lenses, purchased in the 1970s, with my Sony A7, purchased in 2014. This adapter is well made and the Canon lenses work well with it on the A7. Just make sure to rotate the collar on the adapter from "Open" to "Lock" to manually adjust the aperture blades. Set the camera's menu to "release without lens", and set the camera's top control dial to "A" (aperture), and you are good to go. It is actually fairly easy to manually focus using focus peaking. In addition, as you will be viewing off of the sensor, the image in the viewfinder does not dim as the lens is stopped down, an additional assist to manual focusing. You can also see the effect that the aperture has on the depth of field, and the histogram in the viewfinder will allow you to assure that the exposure is correct. The adapter is well made. There is no play in the mount, and the adapter fit perfectly to the lens and to the camera. The only "problem" is that the camera's logo says "Sony", and the lens cap says "Canon". This adapter allows great legacy lenses to be used on modern digital cameras. Highly recommended.

Works fine. It helps to have model builder's hands.
My new Sony NEX-7 is a gem by itself. But with the FD-to-NEX FotoDiox tube-type adapter it accommodates all my Canon FD bayonet mount lenses. I didn't try it with breech-lock (silver ring) FD's. I use the camera in full manual shooting rather than to try to find some kind of mixed exposure mode. Focus is manual. The displays have good WYSIWYG pictures and a light meter function which works. It shows a live-view over / under exposure scale marked in 1/3 EV steps. You just change shutter speed or ISO in-camera, or change the aperture on the lens, to coax the over/under meter to zero or your desired exposure. This is similar to the stopped-down match-needle method used on old FL canons and other ca 1960's cams. Turn the aperture ring to full open for focusing... Stopping down to the OK exposure gives you a free depth of field preview. I had to take the FD lens aperture ring off A (automatic) mode and into the click stops for the various f numbers I moved the control ring on the adapter to OPEN before I mounted the lens on the adapter. Then it has to be moved to LOCK so the aperture actually tracks with the aperture ring. EZ if you've been thru FD messing-around before, like w/macro on bellows (or other). If the stop down pin on the adapter gets on the wrong side of the stop-down lever on the back of the lens, a minor jam might occur and the aperture ring will not work. Manual focusing is tough with the FD lenses especially my wide prime, Canon FD 24mm f2.8. I had to learn that infinity (actual) is a tad shy of infinity as marked on the lens. My longer lenses like the FD 85mm f1.8 focus cleanly. Focus problems are mainly my old eyes trying to see small detail on the pixelated live-view screens on the NEX -7. In deference to the low stars reviewers of the FD-NEX adapter, the mounts are stiff to put on and off especially on the lens-to-adapter end. It is a little tedious to find the necessary "shoot without lens" choice in the menus. The adapter-contained tripod mount is not shaky or loose, but it will take a tiny screwdriver to get to the 2 screws if it gets loose or I want to take it off. The FotoDiox build quality is great. Amazon must be stocking the "pro" version these days. My box does not say that. but It acts, looks and feels "pro". Crusty old FD lovers will have the savvy to do the mechanical stuff. It takes a few practice days to get the camera menu settings which work best for you. .

Bague de bonne facture, made in USA.

Used this to attach my grandpa's Canon 50mm F1.4 to a Sony A7iii. The image is softer than a newer lens but has a smooth filmy look. Love it!

Bonnes photos .
