Excellent set of stud removers
I should have purchased a set of these a long time ago, but I never did think about it until I needed them. Then I always ended up using doubled-up nuts to remove the stud. Knowing I had a task coming up soon where having a set of these would help immensely, I decided to finally purchase a set. I'm glad I did! These do their cam lock on the non-threaded parts of studs perfectly and grip like there's no tomorrow. They'll also work on threaded studs and are fairly nice to the threads, owing to a large cam area of contact. Installation is as easy as removal on all the studs I worked with.

Definitely Handy & Easy to Fix
Definitely came in handy not only when removing studs from an exhaust manifold but installing new hardware as well (Especially because I wasn’t sure on size yet and inevitably said YOLO)Noticed prior to buying a review mentioned item broke into pieces. Happened to me as well but I was also using the wrong size. Correct size obviously fits/works better and doesn’t break (10mm perfectly fits a M10x1.50 stud and not the 7/16”, who would’ve thought).Broken component was easy enough to fix.1. Removed retaining/snap ring.2. Remove washer.3. Remove Needles/Rollers.4. Used a similar size bolt/rod to realign the inner “crowned” tube.5. ReassembleOverall, buy once - cry once. Worth buying to keep in your tool arsonal.

Good set, But---
This set is made in Taiwan. I purchased it November 2024. There wasn't any assembly problems other mentioned and the finish is very good. The storage box is a good quality hinged lid that I expect will last a lot longer than the typical blow mold ones you get.I've only used it a few time and was satisfied, until trying to remove a 5/16" stud. The socket would not grip it. I suspect the wrong insert part was installed. Calling customer service, was instructed email a couple pictures of the set. A+++ for their warranty. A new set was mailed out that same day. The 5/16 works in the new set.

Affordable yet quality
Bought this off a recommendation from a YouTube engine rebuild video (for my impending engine rebuild). While I haven't used it yet, it should make the process of removing studs from the side of my block much easier when I go to swap engines.

Great product
These are perfect for removing/replacing exhaust manifold studs. Studs being used have flat portion between threads. This is a perfect spot for tool to grab onto and run in using a 3/4 “ wrench and a 3/8” ratchet.

Im really disappointed with this tool
I Tried to use it on a 10mm stud. And it slipped so I tried the 3/8” which should have been a little smaller. It slipped too. Sure the stud was a little chewed up, but why else would I be trying to remove it? Tried on 3 studs it was a complete fail on 2 of them. The one it sorta worked on wasn’t great. The 12mm came defective missing one roller. This isn’t a tool that I’ll be using a lot, but I though it would be nice to have. I think I’m sending it back.
