Alta Bike Steel Threaded Headset, Multiple Sizes and Colors

Cheap basic headset, Why! Because the top cone is flat on top with a space and does not seal out anything from getting into bearings or lube, no protection for ball bearings, Same goes for crown race bearings on lower fork, there is a open space to ball bearings. Example other headsets have a top bearing race nut that covers over top ball bearings to help stop dirt/water from damaging bearings, And a round plastic ring that goes around lower fork crown race to seal out dirt, water, etc.This is a strong basic headset with no ball bearing protection from dust, dirt and water.

The item is clearly sturdy, well built and the gold is really nice. However, it is advertised as 22.2mm, but realize that is the inner size of the nut but not the cup size. The cup size is 30mm, it will not press into a 22.2 headset. I was still able to utilize some of the pieces to my project. please Alta Bike, make your item description clearer.

Very happy with this head set, chrome is quality, bearing race is solid & tight fit….I’d definitely recommend..👍

Wrong size. The description says it fits beach cruisers. It didn’t fit what I needed
