Great Colour and Tone
These strings provide a rich tone and colour; I have noticed that it wears with heavy usage and sweaty palms/fingers. I am not usually a person that sweats much while playing so these strings usually lasts quite long; however there are times when my bass is used by other people at practice, so I generally de-string (and use some older strings) for practice and re-string when I am playing gigs.

Sound good...great support from DR!
I bought a set of these about 6 months ago for my American Fender P bass...one of 12 basses I own. The sound is very good. I've been using DR strings (usually the Sunbeams) for many years, and these sound just about the same as the uncoated ones. The feel is a little different though. If you've ever played coated strings you know what I mean. The color doesn't seem to have any effect on that. Not quite as slick for your fingers to slide over as uncoated strings. I seem to notice that on all the coated strings, from any maker. They really do light up under UV light, but the look pretty cool even without it.After installing them, I noticed the G string seemed a little dead. (Yes, I know how to re-string a bass without damaging the new strings...I've been playing for 45 years) I called DR directly, and they sent me a replacement right away...no questions asked. I installed the new G, and it was as bright as the rest. It was nice to call a manufacturer, and not get an endless maze of automated messages! A real human being answered the phone, understood the problem, and took care of my problem right away. A lot of others could how to take care of their customers from DR!I would have given them 5 stars if it hadn't been for the first dead G string. If I could give them 6 stars for support I would.I'll be buying DR strings for as long as I can still play a bass. Great strings, and first-rate support.

Need to exchange this set.
It took me a month or more to put the strings on, and I am a beginner bass player so I did not realize there was a problem at first. But after another month or two I notice that the A string is quieter than the other ones. It is noticeable when I play more forcefully. I was asking friends if there was something wrong with pickups, or the bridge, etc. But I think it is just a "dead" string. I remember reading reviews here that mentioned. Otherwise I like the strings, but I would like to send this set back. Could you help?

Bass Strings
I purchased these for my son who is a student at Millikin University. He loves them and is getting compliments on how well his bass sounds. I placed an order for yellow ones for back up. He is very excited to know that these will be available in blue and red in the fall of 2012.
