Forget what you know about headphones.
The bass. It makes sense, really, that the bass is this good. Punchy. Tight. In your face. Or in your ears, actually. But seriously. The bass. It's not overpowering, unless by overpowering you mean that it just sounds so good that you can't stop thinking about it. Everything else is good too. The mids, the highs, all is fluid and organic; crystal clear and life-like. But oh... the bass.I read somewhere that durability might be an issue, not so. My pair looks solid, like they will be here for a good while. These are of a high quality build, comfortable and stylish. You will almost forget they are there. You just might almost forget that everything else is there too and slip away into a state of sonic bliss. Just you, and these amazing sounds. At less than $100, these are a steal. I can't think of how many headphones I have listened to that I would consider inferior, all the while costing much more. You need these. Just one note: if I have ever had a pair of headphones that benefit from burning in, these would be the pair. It doesn't take long for these to really open up, but after burning in awhile there is a noticeable, positive change to the quality of sound.

Fit - should be able to fit even a larger size head without excessive pressureComfort - padding is good, overall weight is light and comfortableBuild - plastic-y but not flimsy, fold flat for portabilityPerformance - they're AKGs . . . solid for all types of music / media, but best for bass heavy; can be driven by standard smartphone or laptop but sound best with a simple amp (I use a Fiio E6).Recommend - yes. Value on Amazon is tough to beat.

An affordable gem for home & studio use
I bought these after discovering that one of my favorite music producers from a Swedish pop-song hit factory uses these. Yes, this specific model, not the more expensive higher end ones, for some reason. For my purposes, these are fantastic. The bass goes deeper than all my other headphones, deeper than my Bose QC25s or my more expensive AKG K270 Studio editions. But these aren't "flattering" headphones... and that's why I like them. If there's a problem with the way the music was recorded, you'll hear it. In my case, I'm discovering I'd recorded mixes that had too much bass, or loud sibilence (harsh ess sounds). Well produced music sounds wonderful and three-dimensional, but I have noticed even some #1 hits through these make me feel "wow, that song wasn't as well mixed as I thought".I've had no problems with powering them, they sound great plugged directly into my iPhone or my laptop's headphone jack. But they do sound fuller when plugged into my Focusrite headphone amp, especially in the high-mids but also the bass. It's easy to drive them very loud with an amp, loud enough that the whole room will hear. Build quality is okay [EDIT: see update below] - they look magnificent, but I wouldn't throw them around. I'm definitely not wearing these outside the house or at the gym, like I can with my QC25s. Treat them like studio headphones, or for lying on the bed listening to an album beginning to end.At full retail price, I might not have bought these... but at the prices they're selling for recently, they sound better than headphones that are literally 10x their price. They are a hidden gem.UPDATE 1 YEAR LATER: The plastic has started to crack just above the left earcup (see 2nd photo), so I've now lowered my review to 4 stars. The headphones still work, but I'm not sure how much longer they'll last. That said, they might still be a good buy when on discount - I wish I'd bought a second pair as a backup. I still use the AKG K167 to check the bass in my mixes, even though I've since bought professional studio monitors/speakers. The K167 tells me something different & deeper about the bass mix that I just don't get from my studio monitors, or from my QC25s.

Best for DJs and for everyone else
I had the AKG K267 headphones and the sound performance was to the detail I expected. But the thing is, I am no DJ nor a professional one to add that can use the K267 for clubs, stages and studios. So I sold it for a good price. The K167 however, is just all I needed. The bass performance sound is not as powerful as the K267, but the quality is just as good. I love my K167 Tiesto headphones

Very little durability due to cheap plastic. Great sound while they lasted.
I purchased these in December 2012, and was immediately pleased with how they sounded. I bought them to use at work while sitting at my desk working on a computer, getting on average about 8-10 hours of use a week. In early February I noticed the plastic inside the headband (that houses the cord) started to crack at the expansion areas on both sides. I have a fairly normal sized head (I wear a 7 5/8 baseball cap), and am always very careful not to pull headphones farther than needed when putting them on and taking them off. I treated these (my first pair of 'expensive' headphones) very well. I continued to use them very infrequently for the next few weeks (1-2 hours a week at most), and now one of the sides has completely broken through and the other side is not far behind. They are basically unwearable now because they don't feel stable on my head and the sound leaks from a lack of pressure, and I am afraid that the cord will be damaged with further use. For these not to even last 2 months with light/moderate use and very careful handling is absolutely unacceptable. I will be contacting Amazon/AKG for a refund/replacement soon, and will make updates if/when I get a response.

Great Quality and Awesome Investment
Worth every penny of the price. Sound is awesome, the only down side is the plastic hinge has a piece that if you wear the headphones at an agle it might dig into your scalp.

Tiesto!
自宅でEDMを聞くためだけに購入。DJヘッドホンらしく低域が力強い印象だが、中、高域が埋もれることなく明瞭感がある音を鳴らしてくれる。不満は無く全体的に優秀なので、購入して正解だった。

Great Cans
Great headphones. You can use them with a portable device but I recommend using them with a DAC /amp because the sound opens up a lot and they really shine. Clear vocals open soundstage and controlled bass ( not as open as my k702 but they do a good job) and on tracks with deep bass they will pound but not disturb the rest of the frequencies.
