Aerodynamics are paramount when you're giving it your all.And yet wearing a traditional skin suit for road races is impractical. LouisGarneau changes that with its version of a cycling onesie, the Course LimitedEdition Skin Suit. The lower portion of the suit was made from Garneau's CBGladiator fabric. This material features a knit that has a high percentage ofLycra fibers in its composition. This means that you'll experience more musclesupport in comparison to heavy polyester blends. More support translates toless muscle movement from road vibration, and thus, less muscle fatigue.Complementing the CB Gladiator fabric,Speedtech was used in the construction of the uppers. As the name implies, this fabricis built for speed. It features a dimpled mesh design that's akin to thesurfaces of aero helmets and golf balls. The reasoning behind this is simple --between speeds of 15 and 45 mph, the dimples reduce drag at the forward mostpoint of your body. Additionally, this aerodynamic trait also has naturalhydrophilic properties that assist in wicking away moisture. And even better, its 18% spandex content qualifies Speedtech as a true compressive fabric. Thismeans that your upper-body will be less susceptible to the damaging effects ofroad vibration and general fatigue. The fabrics have been treated withColdblack. This treatment helps the dark fabrics to reflect rather than absorbthe sun's rays. In turn, you stay cooler. keeping your core cool helps yourbody to focus on putting power where you need it -- the pedals. Garneau used a full-length zipper with teeth thatpull away from the skin, and with an inner flap that eliminates any abrasionbetween the skin and the zipper. Garneau also added three "floating"mesh pockets into the rear panel, as this material prevents you from overheatingwhen the pockets are full. For further comfort, the suit features Louis Garneau's own5Motion chamois. This chamois uses a minimally-surfaced, pre-shaped design thatm...
