I am getting a 28' sea ray should i get 3/8" 25' or 1/2" 25'? im new to boating

Your dock line should have 1/8" of diameter for every 9' of the boat with a minimum size of 3/8". This means a 28' boat should use 1/2" lines. A 40' boat should use 5/8" line. You can use a bigger line and often boaters prefer this because a larger line is easier to grip and handle than a smaller line (5/8"-3/4" line is the easiest line to grip in our experience).

Think this would work as a tie out line for a German Shepherd?

Depends on your GSD. It is strong but if they chew on it, guessing it would last about five minutes if that. I use plastic coated wire for my pups.

This is hi grade mooring rope but it Doesn’t float!! I use one on my buoy to tie my boat out in the water. It sinks but you can always find the end tied to the buoy.. When tied to the dock you can always find on end also.. I have even left the rope tied to the buoy over two winters and it is still as strong as new even during heavy waves and thunderstorms.. Keep in mind this was in fresh water on a very big lake.. Many someone else can tell you there experiences with salt water.. Keep boating and stay safe..

Would this be considered a "solid" rope? I have a cam lock that works best with solid rope.

I would say that double braided would be considered as solid line, while the 3 strand is twisted line. I could see how the cam lock would work better with double braided line. Just make sure that you get the correct diameter line. I was very happy with the quality of this product.
