I have never used a fountain pen before. A friend got me interested in the idea of calligraphy. I found a pen at a garage sale, bought some ink, tried it out and it all worked just fine. Talking about the ink...It flows very nicely. I thought that the color could be a bit darker. There was no leaking at all.

I'VE OWNED THE SCHEAFFER PEN INTO WHICH THESE CARTRIDGES FIT FOR MANY YEARS. FOR A LONG TIME I REALLY DIDN'T KNOW AND DIDN'T WANT TO TAKE THE TIME WHERE TO FIND REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES. AS WITH SO MANY OTHER CONSUMER ITEMS I'VE BOUGHT FROM AMAZON IT DIDN'T TAKE TWO MINUTES TO SEARCH THE SITE AND FIND WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR. THE REPLACEMENT CARTRIDGES WORK JUST FINE, AND SO MY FAVORITE OLD INK PEN IS BACK IN USE AGAIN!

Looked for these for several years. I have a Shaeffer desk pen which was part of a box of stuff I bought at an auction. I wanted to try it but never could locate the ink cartridges it needed. Found these here on Amazon. Cheap enough though it cost more by far for shipping than the cost of the ink. Excellent traditional blue/black ink. The old pen writes very good, no blobs or variable intensity. Now if I could find more occasions to use it I'd be pleased. One cannot sign a multiple copy document as it won't press through like a ball point. But am pleased and the delivery service was great. NBS
