I have been shopping on Amazon for many many years and this is the very first review I’ve ever written because this pen deserves it. I recently got interested in fountain pens. I ordered several pens on Amazon, but I ordered this one because it was on sale due to some apparent cosmetic damage. (When I got the pen I could see no damage, so I got a great deal!) This pen is absolutely beautiful! It looks beautiful and it writes beautifully! It started writing immediately when I put in the cartridge. It writes smoothly and effortlessly. It balances well in the hand, whether posted or unposted. It’s marked as a medium nib. While waiting for this order to come in I got impatient and went to Office Depot to see what they had. I bought a Cross pen because it was on sale. The Cross pen is also marked as a medium nib but it is a much finer line than this ZenZoi nib. The Cross pen has a little more feedback, or scratchiness. It probably looks more like what other companies would call a fine nib or even thinner. The ZenZoi is so smooth it takes no effort to write. It was with joy that I realized I can ease up on my writing pressure. This pen came with two ink cartridges and a converter. A previous reviewer said they had a problem with the converter. When I tested the converter in my pen there were no problems at all. It still wrote smoothly with consistent ink flow. I was using Namiki ink. The Cross pen only came with cartridges, it had no converter. That needs to be bought separately, if you can find the appropriate one. With this order I also got the Amazon Basics fountain pen, both the medium and fine tip. Surprisingly, the Amazon Basics fountain pens write really well. If you are just a beginner and want to explore fountain pens, and don’t want to spend much, you can try the Amazon Basic pens at a very low cost and get a strong feel for what it’s like to write with a fountain pen. You can stay with them as long as you like, or later step up to a more luxury pen. All I can say is at this ZenZoi pen has been a pure joy to both look at and write with over this month that I’ve had it. I highly recommend it. You can’t go wrong.

This pen is amazing!!! Great weight, writes great, looks amazing! Only complaint is the cap doesn’t sit at top of pen when writing. Snaps great to close tho. Nice click to it.

This pen writes very well. Really like the ink flows. I was a little disappointed with the packaging though. Was package well for a mid-luxury fountain pen.

I was very surprised by the quality of this pen. Smooth flowing ink, wonderful nib, it looks (to me at least) wonderful in appearance, and easy to refill. I am extremely happy to have gotten this one - and it's now one of my two fountain pens that I use on a regular basis (I have 'retired' a number of others). Well worth the money. I think I'll buy one for one of my sons (another fountain pen user) for Christmas.

Awesome Fountain Pen !! Much more pen for the money than I expected !! Would be GREAT to have a few color choices but, definitely NOT A DEAL BREAKER !!!

I have tried two of these and sent both back for manufacturing or design flaws. The pen - when it writes - write well and the feel and heft of the pen are great. It's true as other write, that the red design varies and it's hit or miss what your design ill look like. Mine most definitely did not look like the picture in either pen, but I was ok with that. However, the thread are plastic and the first pen barrel did not screw on smoothly and felt like it would stick or the threads were not quite right and I feared it would break with use. The second one the threads felt fine but it would not write consistently - leaving frequent skips. I refilled twice, flushed it and refilled and the issue remained. Also, the cap would not stay on the barrel. The slightest movement would cause it to come loose. The plastic interior of the cap would not fit correctly and I had to push HARD - much harder than I should have to to keep it on. I gave up. I bought a Scrivener instead metal threads, writes well and no cap issues.

I just got this pen. And it’s great. The pen has great weight. It’s got heft. And the nib is smooth. Seems like a good seal on the cap so Idon’t expect dry starts. Great value for under 50 dollars. My next pen will be another ZenZoi.

I bought the Fine nib pen. Some "fine" nibs seem to either write fairly scratchy or write more like a Medium nib. This one does not. The pen has a nice feel and balance and writes smoothly. Also, this pen looked even better when it arrived than it looked in the pictures. Very happy with this purchase.
