Perfectly lightweight, water-based pomade
I've been looking for a water-based pomade that smells nice and doesn't leave too much buildup, and Lockhart's Paradox has fit the need perfectly. The scent reminds me of cologne, but isn't overwhelming or offensive like some other pomades can be.As someone who only shampoos a couple times per week to avoid hair damage, this pomade is perfect. It almost completely rinses out with just water, and it doesn't leave my hair oily or waxy. After applying, I only need to rinse my hands with water, and I can even run my hands through my hair throughout the day without worrying about sticky residue. If I could give this product a downside, I'd say that it might be too lightweight for some people. I have thick hair with a lot of volume, so I usually don't need to apply too much product. But when I apply Paradox to towel-dried hair, I often need an extra smidge for it to work well all day. However, I think the other benefits outweigh this aspect by a huge margin and I'm excited to have found my new go-to hair product. Thanks Lockhart's!

Great hold and styling but awful scent.
Love how it styles and how it holds during the day. Also love how easy it is to wash out and nice my hair feels afterwards. But this scent is way too strong and smells terrible. It interferes with me wearing my own fragrance. I'd love if this came in an unscented version.

My favorite hair product
This is by far my favorite hair product! I’ve used other Lockhart products and pomades from other companies, and this one works best for me. The scent is masculine, like cologne. It is very workable, and holds pretty well all day. I love how if my hair gets messed up, I can easily restyle it without adding more product. Some might find this to be a negative, but I’ve found it does not wash out in one wash. It is water based, but after one wash, my hair is still tacky. I think this is due to the beeswax content. That being said, I like how it doesn’t totally wash out because it leaves a nice fond for the next application, which means I don’t need to use as much product as I would if it totally washed out.

Nice product
I like the feel of this pomade in my hair. Makes my hair feel soft and manageable. The hold is definitely not a strong hold. Doesn't last all day, and makes my hair look dry at the end of the day.

Greased Lighting, much less greasy.
Looks greasy, firm hold, but water based. 90ish% of the functionality and attitude of classic rockabilly with about 20% of the hassle. Phenomenal aroma too.

Fantastic Water Based Pomade
By far the best water based pomade I've ever used. Super easy to apply. Looks and has the ease of both styling and restyling of an oil based pomade without the hassle that comes with those. Scent is good, though light. Another grand slam from Lockharts.

One of the worst I’ve ever used.
Trash product. I was really excited to try out this Pomade since I loved the Goon Grease water based pomade that smells like cucumber but it was a huge let down. Ended up throwing away more than half the jar. This one totally sucks. Supposed to be a citrus scent but just smells like generic pomade. It’s supposed to be firm hold but by the time I’m out the door my hair is already falling out of place. Doesn’t give a shine so much as it leaves your hair looking like you rubbed KFC all over. And it is difficult to wash out. The whole point of water based pomades is that you’re supposed to be able to wash it out with just water. I damn near needed kitchen degreaser to get it out. Tried water and it left my hair hard, stiff, and fried out. Took two good washes to finally clean out. Stay away and use something else. Try their other water based pomade (the green one) or better yet Layrite or Suavecito.
