Travelpro Platinum Magna 2 | 25-Inch Express Spinner

Read reviews, had the small one for 5 years, never a problem. Trip, (three weeks), to Croatia, need a larger one. Chose the Platinum Magna. Good size, packed well. Suit section, just OK, but fine. Wheels are great, rolls well, looks good. First time I retrieve luggage in Frankfurt, Germany, (so handled twice in Detroit, and Chicago), handle will not pull out, without force. "Maybe when I unpack it will be OK, I think..." But, no. It is not pulling out any easier. So, for multiple hotels, multiple transportation venues, drivers, bellmen, porters...cannot pull it out. I rip at the handle to extend it, for three weeks, for everyone who was easily pulling other luggage handles out. Great. Please start the process for a replacement. Thanks. I just reviewed the product "purchase history" and discovered, "the return window was closed November 12.." Let's see, I bought it in time to plan and pack and then I was in Croatia until December 13th, so the idea that someone actually travels with the luggage they purchase might be figured into the "closing window." And I am sure Travelpro is not thrilled either. I purchased through Amazon because of "Prime", and this is amazing that you "close" window to return, in less than two months.

We needed to replace our more than 20 yr old luggage ( too large for current TSA rules) with newer and up to date conforming luggage - this spinner was perfect for what we needed - I was able to unzip the suiter part which gave up more room but really had enough even with it in the suitcase. It is virtually indestructible and better than those flimsy "hard shell" suitcases which we saw had damage to them as they came off the luggae belt in the claim area - DON'T but one of those as this case felt as light as those when I was in the store looking for new luggage - the price we paid was much lower than in a big box store. I feel that this case will last as long as the previous TravelPro case I had for over 30 yrs and gave away to a friend who needed a small carry-on for a short trip.

So far we’ve gone on just 2 trips with the suitcase and it’s been great. Nice pockets to organize your things. At first I thought there was not enough room for clothes on hangers, but I was able to fit a dress and 5 blouses in there! It rolls very smoothly and handles easily. The handle on the bottom is convenient for getting it in and out of the trunk.My only complaints have nothing to do with the bag. The free TSA approved lock offer requires an original cash register receipt to mail in. First of all, I don’t have an original receipt because it was purchased here online. Second, if I did have a receipt, I wouldn’t want to mail in the original because if I had to return the suitcase for some reason, I wouldn’t have it. There should be an online option for the offer. My other complaint is the personal nature of the questions that were asked as part of the registration process. I don’t want companies knowing that much about my personal life - even though I know that marketing companies already have all that data on me!

Tough, maneuverable and useful features.

This is my 4th travel pro luggage and I absolutely adore it. I usually travel heavy but with the magnatrac wheels it all feels like a feather! The quality and the price are super!

I love TravelPro suitcases. I have been using them for years and find that they combine style, durability, usability, and value.Recently, I had to replace my 20+ year old 22", black rollerboard. It was shabby and one of the seams was needing repair. The wheels and handle however still worked. I decided to size up to a 25", which cannot be carried on, must be checked but is the size we use the most these days.This is my first spinner. Up to now I had favored rollerbboards thinking that the two partially embedded rubber wheels were less likely to be knocked off or damaged while traveling. We shall see what develops with these four highly maneuverable smaller wheels. This case is extremely easy to wheel around.The Marsala Red is a gorgeous deep burgundy! Will see how quickly it gets shabby.

This bag is a gamechanger. I dealt with terrible luggage for the past decade or so and had become fed up. I travel fairly frequently and wanted to invest in a bag that would last and that would perform well throughout. After reading reviews on the Wirecutter, I decided to give this bag a go. What I love about this bag is that they really paid attention to detail. The materials used are really nice, the zippers are solid metal and are comfortable to use. The handles are sturdy and don't feel like they'll fall apart. Rolling the bag throughout the airport is a breeze whether you pull it behind you or push it in front of you. I also love the warranty that covers damage from the airlines poor handling of the baggage. I don't think I'll have to use it, but I've heard the horror stories.

The photos of the interior of this bag leave out one important detail. It is not evident from the pictures how your suits or any hanging items are affixed to the top lid of the suitcase and folded up. The loop for the hangers is in absolutely the wrong position. It is opposite of where it should be, making it very difficult to load first of all. You have to lay the suitcase flat on a bed or on the floor. You cannot tilted up on a luggage rack at home or in a hotel and properly load any hanging items. The loop should be at the "top" of the lid closest when closed to the front and the carrying handle of the suitcase. Since I carry suits almost always when I travel this makes this suitcase very inconvenient and I am very sad that I purchased it.That is the only reason. It is well constructed, roles easily and has a nice solid handle with good ergonomics. If you don't carry any hanging items or they are just shirts or blouses you can probably be okay but this is a serious design flaw in my estimation and the photographs do not let you know about this.

Excellent luggage. Took it on a trip to Europe for a week and loved it. A little on the heavy side, but for check in it was fine. Very well made. The luggage itself was exactly as expected. The wheels are very smooth. Only annoyance was that it included a voucher for a lock, but it was US only and delivery to US address - clearly Travelpro is not thinking of the Canadian market. Not sure why they even included the voucher! I had deduct 1 star not for the luggage, but for Travelpro not including a lock with it at this price for Canadians!

Received my Travelpro a day before a week long business trip to Toronto. Upon first glance I found the bag to be of top quality with excellent workmanship. The bag is nice and deep with a lot of compartments. Easily handled a weeks worth of clothing. The spinner wheels are everything they say they are. Well worth the money.

Purchased as a replacement to our favourite Victorinox roller bag that lasted about 15 years (10 of really heavy use).First few trips with the Travelpro have gone smoothly and the bag is equally spacious as the Victorinox. The Magna-trac wheels make it a pleasure to use and initial quality is very high.
