In all the stores around where I live, finding this kind of light bulb is impossible. I had some yard lights that needed to be replaced, but I wanted to use LED bulbs on them instead of the halide bulbs. And because of where the lights are located, I didn't want to have to change them again for a long time. These lights fit the bill perfectly. The upper portion of the bulb is just the right size to fit inside the fixture, so all around this works! The price was right, too. Thanks!

I purchased 4 of these units to be used as spares at our yard. When my original light bulb burned out, I replaced it with one of these units. It lasted only 4 hours. I then replaced it with a second unit, which lasted only 6 hours. I installed a third unit, which has been working now for about 3 weeks.I unscrewed the socket, where the logic board is located, and its burned out on the first two units (see attached picture). Our electrical installation is flawless, and the rest of our 6 lamps are working perfectly.I contacted amazon, and they told me the exchange period has expired....so I gues I wasted $60.00....Followup: I contacted the seller, and promply replied, that they would replaced both of these defective units. Thumb UP!!!!! My third light is still burning bright and shiny.....after 5 weeks

We converted our metal halides to LED bypassing the ballast to save money and avoid having to rent a lift frequently to change the bulbs. These are supposed to last 50,000 hours. We installed 4 of these on July 17th using a lift that we have to rent for $150/day. As of today, 45 days from installation one bulb continues to work. The other 3 all stopped working the first 3 weeks from installation, the second a few days after that and the 3rd began to flicker and finally died last night. I have 4 more of these but will NOT install them as its $150 for a lift rental every time we need to change bulbs. I recommend you stick with a known brand like Phillips, GE, or Sylvania. These are trash but I can't throw them away until the next time we spend $150 to rent the lift.

Just to preface this review I want to say I have fairly high standards regarding product purchases. This light arrived quickly and the packaging was adequate. I'm using this in a dimly lit garage, it is bright, but I have to say I expected more for the price. I purchased this because it was less expensive than others of the same rating, I "cheaped out" and I think the specs on this light were grossly inflated. It's adequate, so I'm not sending it back, I think I could have done better. Use your own judgement, but I can't help wondering if I could have done better for a few dollars more. I have another spot in my shop that needs a light, I'll spring for the extra cash and update my review. Just an FYI, if you plan on using this in a "traditional" light socket (E26 I think) you will need to purchase an adapter, they are fairly inexpensive.

I purchased these cob lights to upgrade my metal halide bulbs. All 5 of these utilize the same electricity that ONE of the metal halides did. Circumvented the ballast in the old fixture, installed the cobs and BAM! They work beautifully! They are silent, produce excellent light and best of all take very little energy to operate!

Brighter than it seems, which I prefer.

I have a security lamp in a very difficult location to reach so I purchased this LED bulb with the hope and belief that it would be up there for years. I purchased it 2 years ago and after a year it started to flicker. 6 months ago it became a disco strobe- but it was still adequate to light up the parking lot. It finally gave out this past week. At about 8 hours a day for approximately 2 years, the bulb lasted 2,920 hours. This a far (!!!) cry from the 50,000 hours advertised.

First one died but they were very helpful at sending a replacement very quickly.
