CINDERELLA comes to life in this 50th Anniversary Edition of the most beloved fairy tale of all time. A sparkling fantasy of music, magic and romance, RODGERS & HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA captivates from overture to finale with a delightful score and stunning flittering performances from an all-star cast. Academy Award nominee Lesley Ann Warren is charming as the raggedy waif turned belle of the ball with Broadway star Stuart Damon as the Prince. Also starring Academy Award nominee Walter Pidgeon, Academy Award Winners Ginger Rogers and Celeste Hold as the Fairy Godmother, Cinderella will waltz into the hearts of the entire family and live happily ever after as one of the most irresistible musicals ever made.

Best version ever.
At last, a Region 2 version of this musical. And to me, the best version ever. Ginger Rogers has top billing but is merely a cameo role, yet she's an attractive, pleasant character and worth a watch. No revolting snorting from one of the stepsisters like in the other two versions I've seen... these two are merely a bit stupid and spiteful. Lesley Ann Warren is a bit soppy but looks a million dollars and has a decent singing voice, as does Stuart Damon. All the characters do well in their roles... and it's worth every penny to me for the glorious 'Stepsisters' Lament'.

You Shall Go to the Ball
A different take on a fairy tale classic. I don't recall this being shown on television in the UK so it nice to see this, especially the stellar cast. I didn't care to much for some of the songs even though I know that Julie Andrews starred on the stage version. Worth a look. The kids will love it.

not the best
I wasn't expecting too much because this was a stage version after all but it was pretty awful.I didn't mind the sets, which were so obvious, and I absolutely loved the horses but I've seen better in my old school plays. The acting was too much, too prim and neat - almost childish. They should have just roughed it up a bit and it would have made a big difference. Now to the worst bit...oh my god those song, I though Rogers and Hamerstein were better than tat, It's like they dashed the lyrics off, for all of them, on a napking during lunch. There was just so little effort in it...how anyone directing this could have been happy with the finished result is beyond me..it was dreadful.
