Dorman 258-514 Air Filter Housing Compatible with Select Cadillac / Chevrolet / GMC Models

This item fit perfectly on my 2003 GMC Sierra. The previous owner put in an aftermarket "cold air intake" system, which was absolutely unnecessary and did nothing but make it louder in the engine compartment. Like I said, this item fits perfectly! Just make sure that you check your vehicle to ensure that it uses the same intake ports as this box. Some people have complained that this filter box didn't fit, but I would bet money that they never bothered to double check how their existing filter box mated up to the inner fender well. There are a couple of different styles, and the other style uses a single large hole for the intake. If you have two intake ports, this is your box!

I was happy to see the plastic was not brutal holes lined up well only two extra things I did was drill a hole in the box to install the original airflow indicator and replace the pin closest to the fender with the original. I was pleased with the price, The quality and ease of installation. I install this on my 2003 Silverado 4.8 L

arrived broken. Besides that the quality of plastic is brittle , thin. This is nothing like oem. Returned

The Doorman fits just like the factory Delphi unit. I used the original fasteners as they are designed for screw drivers where as the new ones are allen head keyed. I transplanted the emissions sticker and all is good. Plastic flexes more than the original Delphi, but it is a made in China part.

When you buy a used GM truck and the air box is damaged or filthy, just replace it. Putting a new one in gives you some peace of mind about the air going into your engine.

Perfect fit! We went to smog our 2004 avalanche and we failed ONLY because the sticker fell, or wore off, our air filter box and Cali has a mandatory sticker let (ohhh California...), So we had contacted the factory that said they could mail us a new one in 2-4 weeks but we only had a week to smog and get renewal with Dmv. So it was here in less then a week and it's done and works normal.

I think this is a bit overpriced for what it is. However, I couldn’t find a new one any cheaper and this did the trick. I bought a truck that had the wrong air box installed and was sucking dirty air into the throttle. This has fixed the problem so I’m happy with it.

Replaced the old broken down air filter housing. Perfect fit. If you have the “dirty” air filter indicator, you will need to drill the hole for it. Carefully remove old grommet from old box and install into new box. I applied a light film of plumbers lube on the grommet.
