Awesome single bike holder! 29er fits 5.5ft bed
Price is a lot but now that I have it I think it is worth it. Has a built in lock with key and a medium frame 29er will fit with this in a 5.5ft truck bed. Install was super easy. Use the blank key to install the lock mechanism.

Great option for hauling bicycles in a pickup truck
Installs in seconds, uninstalls in seconds, only touches the bikes tire. Very cool design that WORKS! Now I don’t have to leave hitch mounted carriers hanging off my truck…

Great Rack for Trucks
Great rack for short bed pickups. Rack is a bit spendy, but well made and includes a lock.

Didn’t come with all the parts. Update Update. I called there support and they sent me straps
It did not come with all the parts the straps that go into tailgate are missing. 250$ and can’t use it.Update update. I called there customer support line and within minutes they were sending me the straps. Very quickly. Support was very under standing. And within days. I had everything I needed. Rack work. Perfectly. Just what I needed. Very happy I ordered another rack. And it came with everything needed. And we are using them both. Works very well.

Original design worked better
I really loved the original one, but it was starting to show its age. I got a new one and while it does seem like maybe it is designed to fit more wheel widths (though never had a problem from MTBs to Road) it just doesn’t seem to fit as securely. The only one ratcheted very clearly and this one seems to slide roughly and I never know if it will release on its own

Quick and easy way to haul mountain bikes (one 29”, one 27.5”) in my truck’s bed
Pretty easy to assemble. Uses ski boot type bindings to connect frame with tailgate anchor straps. Solid overall, but I suspect the buckles will be the likeliest failure point / require the closest attention. The insta-gater has a cable and SKS lock system to lock the bike to the unit. However, a thief could easily remove the insta-gater itself by simply removing the anchor straps, and hauling bike and rack to a nearby vehicle.Pro: ease of use; holds bike securely for travelCon: securing bike properly against theft will require a separate locking system

Good but you should know
I like this bike rack. It works well and is very easy to use. It's really small and lite so it takes up very little space. My truck has a 6' bed and I still have to turn the handlebars to get my bike to fit. I have a 29" with an xl frame which is bigger than most people. I disagree with the product description that the rack can hold 29" tires. I haven't had any issues with the bike moving but the tire is supposed to be fully seated in the trough. See pictures.I'm not sure how most people load their bike but I lift mine over the side rail. I'm fairly tall and my bike is very lite so it's not a big deal. There isn't a theft issue if you use a cable and lock it to the bed. Even if someone opens the gate or cuts the straps, they can't steel your bike or the rack.Overall, I would recommend it.
