Use for wax carving and it’s a great little machine so far!

Bought this item in May 2021 and compared to my 20 year old Weller and Antex it has not stood up to the test of time.I bought it for its low controllable temperature and fine tip and this afternoon the heating element in the iron failed.Such a pity but it proves if you buy quality it lasts.

Soldering iron did not seem to heat up properly and temperature control did nothing. Even when eventually did heat solder to melting point was unworkable with very poor quality tip. Maybe just that this was faulty, but would not recommend and will be looking for something better quality.

I wanted something that ran at 12v so I could use it away from home on a battery, but went for this because it had the station with the temperature control too. I’m glad I did.The iron heats up quickly and being able to control how hot it gets means I’m melting solder rather than cremating it!Being able to switch the device off at the box rather than the wall is useful, as is the small stand attached to the power box.Very happy customer
