Poor quality zippers may seize. Many beaches limit umbrella sizes to 7'6" max. BUT I still love it.
I bought the red one in 2015 and after ONE trip the zippers on the panels seized; and silicone spray has not loosened it. I bought this camo version as I gave the red one away; and am VERY disappointed to see that the zippers are EXACTLY the same kind now in 2023! That being said, the camo version REALLY STANDS OUT at the beach amongst the red and rainbow paneled ones to easily get your group meet up when arrival times are staggered. Also, many beaches limit umbrellas to 7'6" but I have never seen a Lifeguard, Sheriff, or Police measuring umbrellas (but I am sure they have they would do so for littering, loud parties). Pitching it vertically as sometimes required for visibility in crowded beaches its good, BUT when pitched on its sides is where this thing REALLY excels-when other folks run away over a brief but intense rain, you can keep both your beach spot and precious parking spot and just stay put with this umbrella. I also plan to use for it to put in front of a campfire without the bottom pole and simply cowboy camp with the light and heat from the fire reflecting down on us. I camped across from one guy who was camping alone; and he just rigged his umbrella to partially cover his picnic table, but had the other half covering one bench end half so he could stand up and cook. (half covered the picnic table, half at one end for the stand up room). There are some super 12" Al extra wide stakes on Amazon which I advise you get as a 6 pack fits into the bag easily and will hold it securely even under severe wind.

Better than thought!!! For avid fishermen!
We love it :) we bought it primerly for our fishing trips! This (oversized)umbrella is better than we expected. It is heavier than I thought it would be. The setup is easy and it blocks all the rain and wind while leaving our gear underneath! Folds up quickly and everything fits in the carrying bag. Highly recommended for fishermen! We received a lots of compliments about our rig! For sure will be a lots of use on our trips to stay dry!

Ideal for the beach. Quick setup
We are the only one with the camo tent when we go to the beach. Easy to locate which is ours. It's quick to setup unlike other beach tents. The older models had the pole that would collapse into itself, this one has to come apart and be clipped into place. Overall I still find it easy to assemble. It's sturdy and doesn't move with the beach breeze

Helps protect equipment on our camera cart!
When filming in Hawaii, we have to deal with the hot sun and sudden showers so this umbrella has been an absolute lifesaver countless times.I used to own the blue umbrella that only was 3/4” thick, this new one is 1-1/4” and it feels much stronger.I’ve cut a hole into the center of the cart and use hose clamps so it doesn’t pop up from a gust of wind. I also use tent bungees to hold the side flaps down snug to my cart.Every camera cart has one on our set!

Decent shelter, bad in wind
The good thing is that this umbrella has lots of tie downs. You can stake it down well, and a big rock, a log, or a cinder block will hold the pole in place. That weight helps overall, too. This is a non-starter at the beaches here, as the wind would carry it away before it was even set it up. But I actually use it around the campfire, set back a bit. It's light enough to pack into any camp that you're making multiple trips to set up. I sleep elsewhere, my van or a tent, but this is a nice fire reflector and dry in the drizzle. It would be easy to sleep in if you wanted to. This sets up really well between two trees, with its back to brush -- even in wind this works well, if It's tied down. If it isn't tied down in the wind, it will almost certainly blow, roll, and break. It's just a big umbrella.

Love these things
These are perfect for camping in cooler weather and cozying up to the fire. Light weight, portable, and easy to put up and take down. This is the third one I've purchased and I have recommended them to my friends and other campers we have met. Just get it, you'll love it!

No telling how many of these I've sold for you...
Quick and easy Sun or rain protection, stable in wind. Everywhere I go with this thing people want to know where to get one. One little issue, the window net on the camo model shouldn't be white.

Right out of the package
I am adding to my review. I ordered a second sportsbrella, thinking I'd give it another chance. It arrived on Tuesday. On Thursday, waiting for a soccer game, 20 minutes in, the umbrella is leaking, and not just in one spot. I opened the umbrella for the first time today, at the game. The pole is also damaged. To be honest, the pole doesn't bother me that much, but it's brand new, and my second attempt with this product. We bought this less than a year ago. It wasn't used all winter. It leaks in the rain and has now fallen apart so it can't block the sun. Before it fell apart, it was easy to put up and blocked the sun well.
