Highly recommend for adults & children
I highly recommend this book to anyone who's interested in explaining MS to family members, and/or understanding it better yourself. The illustrations are scientific & engaging, and the text clear. You can read as little or as much as you want. My 6 yr old is fascinated by it & has been thinking of all kinds of ideas for healing & preventing MS.

You're..... Your.....
I like the book and it helped my elementary school aged child understand MS.I'd give 5 stars if the illustrations had proper grammar. Really... That should've been caught before being published. My 5th grader noticed it immediately.

Great little book.
Great to help explain the disease to kids or anyone that needs to keep things basic. Great illustrations and "it kinda feels like" examples are spot on.

Disappointed
I really like the beginning of this book and then I wanted to tear everything out after page 30.The book starts with a great primer on the disease but then resorts to vaseline on glasses and popsicle sticks on fingers.I think they missed an opportunity to go further into what it’s like to live with the disease and some of the things most patients can expect and not kindergarten tricks.

A Must Read for those with MS
When I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) 20 years ago, the one thing I wanted was for someone to explain this disease to me like I was a human and not a scientist writing a thesis paper for my PhD. Such a book did not exist. Even the resources at the National MS Society couldn't simply explain what this disease is, how it operates, what symptoms you may have and how to deal with being diagnosed. I wish The Electrifying Story of Multiple Sclerosis had been available 20 years ago. Vanita Oelschlager does an excellent job of breaking down the basics of this disease for anyone, no matter what your age, to be able to understand. Being diagnosed with MS is electrifying and terrifying enough, being able to understand what it all means shouldn't be. The author has stepped in and provided a phenomenal resource where even the doctors have failed to explain. In addition It Like To Live With MS" was especially interesting, This section is a great tool to help one understand some of the most common symptoms a MS patient suffers from. Twenty years ago as a college student, getting diagnosed with a disease I had never heard of before - this book would have been immensely helpful in my journey and understanding. I also want to applaud the author for donating a portion of the proceeds from this book to help with MS research. This book will be one I give future people who get diagnosed.Thank you to Vanita Oelschlager and Vanita Books for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Simple and Informative
A very simple but informative explanation of what it's like to live with MS. Simple enough for a young person to understand.
