These handbag shopping mysteries are a hoot! Every time I walk into a nearby department store, I think of Haley Randolph. Dorothy Howell nails it! Haley Randolph is such a breezy character that you have to love her! I can hear her talking in my head. Nothing fazes this girl who lives to shop. She cracks me up! In this story she's back at Holt's, the second class department store she deigns to work at. And, typical merchants, they're holding a Christmas in July sale. (Pretty soon it will be year long Christmas for shoppers.) Haley is forced to endure many indignities, such as dressing like a Christmas elf. But she manages to solve the murder of one of the fancy actress elves, and help her friend Jack rescue a kidnapped child in short order. Her store wins a Holt's contest as well, thanks to Haley, and she is reinstated in the good graces of her fellow employees. But her best prize is the gift of the desired Breathless satchel! It's such a fun story that I would have been sad to miss it. I'm so glad to have it in paperback, because I don't do Kindle. That's how I roll!

Captured from chapter one, albeit a murder mystery I found this book to be full of humor. Light reading for the holidays.

This book is a great addition to your Haley Randolph mysteries! It's nice to read a set of books that while maintaining a bit of steaminess and suspense with the steaminess, you actually get a story and you really get to know Haley. A great series and a great book!

If you are into murder mysteries and romantic comedies this series is great. This was the first Kindle release in the series but don't let that stop you from purchasing this e-book. It was actually released to Dorothy Howell's success of her Haley Randolph Series because her fans wanted so much more. It was not an ongoing story to the series but a stand alone story that helped suffice the craving of her fans.

Not that much to it ~ just a mini-holiday story. But if you're reading the series, it's a good story ~ like a little holiday treat. It has all of the bits that make Haley's stories fun ~ just without the full-blown details.

Dorothy Howell comes up with another winner. Prefer paperbacks, but understand publisher would not print, so only issue was having to purchase the ebook and download the kindle app. Otherwise fun and witty read. Caught myself laughing out loud a few times. The story was interesting and moved well. Another great Haley escapade. All the Haley Randolph books are great fun.

I love this series. It's a go to - fun - murder/mystery series. Just when I think this author as topped out in cuteness, she comes out with another book - a must read book. You can't go wrong reading this series.

Dorothy Howell writes great comedy crime and this book is no exception. Hayley Randolph is a great character and Howell has the perfect blend of humour with twists and thrills. Highly recommended!

I love all books about Haley. She is hilarious.

Fun and easy to read, But far too short. More of a novella then a novel. An enjoyable read never the less.

Different format. Nice light read.
