Great bread machine
I got this one to replace my old one (different brand but similar functions) that left me after 15 years of use. So far so good. We use it several times a week and stopped buying bread. It gets the job nicely done. We used it for making bread and dough only but it has other programs that we will try in the future. Three months so far and it has been working well. I hope to be able to use it long time like the one before.

Love this bread maker
This bread maker makes great bread and it is super easy to use. The pan is slightly horizontal which I like. It is also easy to clean. It is light weight too which is nice.

Read and read and read manual
The media could not be loaded. It would not work for me i had this product for a long time it wouldn’t mix , it just baked the ingredientsI re tried it yesterday. It was the try again or throw it out. Well my oven died and we wanted bread so i sat read the manual re read the steps. Everything has to go in order. Liquid first then dry then yeast then bread pan inserted and pushed down tight. Plug it in Pick crust color leave it along. It mixed it did everything and i got myself a very nice loaf of breadI recommend this product. I love it.

Good, Reasonably-Priced Model
I'm a bread machine maven because my family eats a ton of bread, and nothing beats homemade. This Oster machine hasn't changed in appearance over the years, but it has added functionality. It now has settings for homemade jam and gluten-free bread, for example. It can make up to a 2-pound loaf, although most recipes make a 1.5 pound (3 cup flour) loaf. The ExpressBake feature bakes a loaf more quickly -- especially useful if you're runnig out of time -- but of course the crumb is more dense.I tend to use the dough setting more than any other because I bake a lot of artisan loaves. I've been using bread machines for decades, though, and I realize most people will just want the press-and-bake convenience. In that case, you may find yourself tweaking recipes to make them work in this machine since every brand uses different rise and bake times. If you find that your loaves are flat on top (as my daughter did), then you've added too much liquid. If your machine strains to knead or comes out with lots of dried bits, then you need a little more. Eventually, you'll get used to the machine to know the recipes that work best. (As a general rule, for a 1.5 loaf, you'll need 1 cup liquid to 3 cups flour, plus yeast, salt, sugar, and butter/oil.) The timer allows you to set up the bread machine in the morning so that you can have warm bread for dinner. Or to have fresh bread for breakfast. This Oster is a good basic machine. Higher-end brands such as Zojirushi tend to have tougher motors and more durable pans. The price difference can be staggering, and this Oster remains a much bigger bang for the buck.-- Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Best bread machine
I had an older Oster that the heating element was going out on so I needed a new bread machine. Could not find an Oster at the time I looked so went with reviews and purchased a Cuisinart . It was horrible!!!!!I was delighted a few weeks later to find an Oster on Amazon and ordered. I am back to baking wonder bread once again. These machines are work horses and so dependable. Every loaf comes out beautiful. Good recipes and easy to follow instructionsLove my Oster

Works as advertised.
Bought this as a replacement for the previous model because the bread pan paddle bearing finally failed after several years of regular use. Unfortunately, buying just a new pan was not an option, as it is now NLA.I've used it twice so far with expected good results. Not as many baking options as some other, more expensive, bread makers, but perfectly sufficient for my needs. As a side-note, would recommend handwashing the pan. Although the dishwasher does a good job of cleaning it, I suspect that might cause detergent water to get past the rubber seal and prematurely wear the bearing out.

Old one lasted almost 8 years
The spindle in the bread pan dropped out, couldn’t be replaced except by a used bread pan ordered online. The bread mahime is still available, you just can’t get replacement parts any longer. This newer model works well, and I have been using my normal dough recipe and procedure with no problems. I am looking forward to doing pasta dough in it. I normally just make bread dough, and bake my loaves in the regular oven. I will use the Jam feature as I did with my old one. The main concern people on the Oster Help board had, was that there are 13 functions, and the manual covers 11. There are no recipes for the “Cake” function, and people were told that it was for making bread, not cake. The manual only says that it takes 1:30. I can tell you that it mixes for 20 minutes, and bakes for 1:10. Temp? No clue. I used it to make cornbread, just to see how long the mixing cycle was, and when to remove the paddle. One person asked about banana bread, and was told it was not for making pudding. As in British-style steamed puddings, rather than American-style milk/cornstarch puddings? Just an odd and unhelpful answer. The “Quick Breads” and “Cake” settings are for things without yeast, such as banana bread, cornbread, poundcake. The “Bake” cycle is 1 hour; temperature unknown. This seems to follow the modern standard in manuals-incomplete information, with customer service representatives who are not familiar with the product. At all. The ONE good thing about the Q&A board was that I found out I wasn’t the only person unable to remove the bread pan. It wasn’t me. 8)
