Pleased with this fishfinder
I had my eye on this type of fish finder/ GPS plotter for quite a while. I bought the 5 inch display with the preloaded inland maps and installed it on a 2004 Bass Tracker Pro Crappie 175. The Good: - Worked right out of the box with all functionality as advertised. - Pulled up the maps of the two major reservoirs I fish without any prompting or setting. - Sonar image of bottom structure is a bonus. - Shows the course you have traveled on the map screen. - Maps show lake features, navigation aids, shoreline and depth. Would be an advantage when fishing a new lake. - Not too difficult to learn basics of electronics settings and options, but does take a little study. The Bad: -Routing the transducer cable thru the boat's wiring channel so it would be hidden was a pain. Be sure and have an electrician's fish tape on hand. - The 5 inch screen is really too small, especially if you're and older guy. If I fished more often, I would definitely go with a larger screen. - Be sure you've got enough space to mount it. Mine was a little tight in the location where the old finder was located, but it worked out OK. - I didn't catch any more fish than usual :-)

Nice unit
Mine is mounted on the bow near trolling motor controls. It would be perfect if mounted on the console to see while driving. Works great, but my eyes ain’t what they used to be and the speed, depth & water temp display is hard for me to see while I’m fishing. Will most likely be getting a 7 or 9 just for the larger display.

Epic failure by both Amazon and Lowrance/Navico
Oh, let me tell you about how bad both Amazon and Lowrance/Navico are on this one. My first and last purchase of a Lowrance product. Purchased the Lowrance HOOK Reveal 5" with inland maps May 1st. It took a week for shipping, then 2 weeks to get the unit installed, when it was realized that the transducer did not communicate with the head unit. Called Lowrance/Navico warranty support, after 26 minutes of hold I spoke to 'John' who ensured it can be easily rectified and I would soon get an email with instructions. Over a week later I got a follow-up email from Navico stating I needed to send in my unit, and I would get another email 'soon' with shipping instructions. So, I changed tactics and reached out to Amazon on June 8th to just return it, but I had exceeded my return window of June 6th by a whole 2 days. Keep in mind I did purchase the 2 year extended protection plan through Amazon as well. Amazon then said there was nothing they could do but would provide me with the contact info for Lowrance to warranty the unit. After that waste of, over an hour, talking to Amazon support I was SOL. Another couple days go by and I get the second and third emails from Navico stating to ship the unit to them AT MY COST. Why the #$*# should I have to pay for their fault after a previous email communication from 'John' that stated "I've processed the Return Authorization, and rest assured, that the unit will be delivered to your address at no cost." I'm supposed to 'rest assured' they'll ship crap back to me after I have to pay to get it to them? The saga continues with no resolution in sight as of yet. Epic failure by both Amazon and Lowrance/Navico, don't waste your time/money.

To many options and features.
It's a fish finder/chart plotter and 100 other things I don't need. It's a Lowrance and you like them or hate them.It is a necessary evil and at times it pushes my buttons. It works and does it's job.

Exactly what I needed it for

Misleading Lowrance advertising for this unit.
This unit is a good unit as a depth finder-but C-Maps cannot be loaded via the microSD card slot as advertising leads you to believe.

When I opened the box it looked like the fishfinder was used and just shoved back in the box. Still waiting for my refund.
