Sitting on an air cushion is a nice lift to relieve tailbone pain!
I really like this cushion! I am 5' 8" about 180 pounds and found that this cushion helps take the pressure off my tailbone, which is so nice not to feel pain while sitting! I fractured my coccyx 10 years ago and still have pain issues in that spot, probably arthritis by now and cortisone shots don't help it. Ice is nice or a frozen bag of peas, but can't sit on that all day long. Although, I don't want pain to keep me from living life, so this cushion is the best I've found to use for my problem. It does not inflate to a hard and firm feel, which I think would hurt anyway, but it does give just enough lift for me to get that tailbone suspended and that's all that matters when sitting is required! I've tried so many different styles, materials and brand named cushions only to find them to either go flat after one days use or hurt my thighs from just a few hours to other kinds that just pushed against my tailbone constantly, which only defeats the purpose. Had to keep shifting from hip to hip because sitting normally was not going to happen. Had found with this item though that nothing feels better than sitting on a cushion filled with air with a cutout specifically for the tailbone makes it perfect to help eliminate that agonizing pain! I've sat on it around the house a few times, but haven't put it into hardcore use yet. Plan to use one at work on the forklift, one in my vehicle for long trips and one when I go kayaking. When I first opened the package and turned the valve to the left, had noticed that if I just leave it alone with the valve open and give it time to do its thing it will fill up with air and then when the desired amount is reached I close the valve turning it to the right and gently sit on it. I seen many negative reviews on this item before buying it, but with the constant pain I suffer in my tailbone, I've been willing to try anything to make sitting a comfortable thing to do again. Having this kind of a product around is really nice for my situation, but if it starts to leak, as I've read from others that have had problems with it which is a real drag, then I will most likely try to do anything I can to make it work because sitting on air is by far better than sitting on any solid cushion I've ever tried in the past! Planning on buying a few more, but would be nice if the price was lower. Then I could have one everywhere I sit and not have to carry it with me everywhere I go! Hope this review gives others some more insight on this product and help with your purchasing decisions. Blessings to you!

Unfortunately not the same cushion as before
There are two different versions of this cushion sold from this same location. My original review was for the cushion with a faux suede-like feel on the top and sides. It maintained inflation very well and was easy to fold away. The one being sold now which I purchased from the "reorder button" is far from the same. It has a dimpled texture on the top and sides which will leave marks on your exposed skin. When fully inflated, it isn't as supportive as the original and it leaks air from the valve. The only positive thing is that it has a grippy texture on the bottom which keeps the cushion from sliding around. Please, bring back the original!*Original Review:5 out of 5 starsThis is the best travel cushion I've bought so far. I've tried memory foam, gel, and other inflatable cushions, but this has been the most convenient and comfortable of them all. First of all, it quickly self inflates so you don't have to blow it up with your mouth. Fully inflated, the dimensions are 16.5" wide, 13.5" deep and almost 3" at this thickest edge. Deflating it isn't too difficult as you fold it up and squeeze out the air. It comes with an elastic band and a carrying case to keep it together. Its dimensions fully deflated and in the case are around 14" by 4" by 3".I have noticed other reviewers stating that this cushion leaks air and doesn't maintain support. I have only used this on one round trip flight about 6 hours each leg, plus I have been using it on my work chair for about a month now and so far no signs of any leakage. The only problem I had with this cushion was that the 3 inch thickness makes my upper torso higher than the headrest. I had to deflate it a little so that I could use those adjustable head supports when I sleep.

Great seat cushion for long flights
My husband and I just returned from Bora Bora, which entailed THREE-airplane rides! The flight from NY to LA was over 6 hours. Another one from LA to Tahiti was over 8 hours. If each of us did not have this inflatable seat, we’d be very miserable. (The third flight was only a short domestic flight so we didn’t need this cushion.)This self-inflating seat cushion is very easy to use. You simply open the air valve and allow the seat to inflate to your desired firmness. Once you are satisfied with the firmness, you close the air valve. It only took about a minute or so to inflate. To deflate (which took a bit longer), you open the valve and start rolling from the opposite end. When you reached the other side, close the valve to lock the air out. It comes in a long mesh bag for easy storage – very convenient and compact. We usually put away all our travel accessories one hour before the plane touched down. This one-hour window is the reason why I know how wonderful this inflatable cushion is! The plane’s seats were uncomfortable and we can feel it.I see that Amazon.com is out of stock on this product. I hope they will restock soon because this is a must-have item for all travelers on long flights -- especially for people with back problems. Highly recommended!
