SunliteThreadless City 700c Fork Replacement

I bought this fork to replace a straight blade Soma CX Disc fork on my older Soma Double Cross DC that had some damage to the fork crown where the crown race sits, which made a perfect headset adjustment impossible. I shopped All-City, Surly, and Soma options, but I couldn't pass up this price. I cut it down with a hacksaw, popped on a new crown race, and banged in a star nut, and it's good to go. The fork is very similar to the Soma with a slightly uglier disc tab...it's a good deal at half the price of the Soma. I don't feel any difference in weight or flex, but I'm running 44mm Compass tires so the fork isn't really bearing the brunt of bumps anyway. It is 10mm longer axle-to-crown than the Soma so the geometry is affected slightly, but I can barely tell. The benefit of the extra length is that I have a bit more room above the front tire, which was the limiting factor for tire size on the Soma fork. I think I could fit a 700x50 now whereas before I was maxed out.

This fork is what I needed to complete my baby! I had a 250mm steerer and when I saw this 300mm steerer I just got to have it. Works like a dream (for my custom)!
