This food is super nutritious and our pet rats loved it. Definitely worth buying.

I was kind of skeptical but for the food quality an the Longevity of the duration of how long I've had the food has been amazing my rat seem to love the food the size is good and the freshness has been great I have tried many different other Foods now there are times I will buy hamster and gerbil whole grain mix and add this in with it as well but you don't need to I have tried mixing rabbit food in my rats will pick around and eat everything else except for the rabbit food and I did that because of the price but this seems to be a little higher but it does last longer than it is worth the money

Really great deal, better than any found in stores. Has everything my growing babies need and they have never given me any trouble about eating it. Oxbow essentials (red bag) I use for all my different small animals (specific to the breed of course) for over a decade and I’m very pleased.

This rat food has great ingredients and is high quality. My rats love it, and since the bag is so big, it lasts quite a while with my three rats. It's a solid choice for feeding them.

Okay...so your rats will probably hate the taste of this food but they will still eat it when they are hungry and that’s what is important. I supplement these with some festive and less healthy hamster food but only to get them to actually eat something between starvation strikes. I have two 3 month old rats and they are a very healthy weight and rambunctious little girls. Full of energy and life. I don’t know if I would recommend this food as they don’t like eating it but I have to recommend it because in all of my experience as an animal caretaker we have used Oxbow because Oxbow is simply the best.

I bought this one time when I couldn’t get my normal brand and my squirrels loved them just as much!

This brand is the best brand you can get for your rats. Definitely a bit on the pricey end but so worth it.

Rats LOVE this food and the four of them will eat a full Ecobowl per day. Just keep in mind it may be inappropriate for your rats if they age out of the young rat food before the bag is finished.

This is good nutrition for rats. I've seen some reviewers say that the protein is too high. The label clearly states that rats should be fed some fresh fruit/veggies in addition to this. So, the protein in the dry food is higher to compensate for this.

Great quality juvenile rat food. Just wish it came in a larger size bag! Other than that, very pleased!

When we first got pet rats we researched the best food that we could purchase to ensure that they got all the nutrition they needed. Oxbow was the top of the list when it comes to rodent foods. We purchased 4 rats and ended up with a pregnant rat (Purchased from the pet store already pregnant when we bought her). We ended up with 10 baby rats, along with the 4 we had purchased. We needed the Oxbow young rat and mouse food and definitely needed a large bag. Once the babies weaned from their mom we began feeding Oxbow Young rat and it has been a staple in our home for our ratties every since. I loved being able to purchase such a large bag, the price was fantastic for the amount of food and it lasted until our rats were adults and we switched over to Oxbow Adult Rat food. Oxbow is the only brand of Rat food that I will purchase for our Ratties.
