Excellent for my use
I purchased this to strain the watery fluid off of eggs meant for poaching. I have a large Chinese strainer when several eggs need poaching, but I usually only do two. This is exactly what I wanted!! The actual dimensions of this item, very so much on here that I will take time to list the actual dimensions. Outside of long (oblong) bowl is 3 1/4", inside of that dimension is 3 3 /16ths, bowl sides inside 3 31/32nds, handle length from under bowl weld end to handle and is 3 1/2 " the grip portion from top of bowl weld to end of handle is2 7/8ths", the holes in bowl are very close to 1/8th". Bowl depth is very close to 5/8ths". As to actual construction the handle is 1/16" thick and the bowl slightly less. Since I don't make drinks per say, I have no idea how suitable it is for it's intended use, but for my use it is great!! In fact I will buy one more to do two eggs at the same time! This product i received is not flimsy, rough or sharp edged, on top of interior of bowl, the outside bottom is not as smooth, but there is no sharp or objectionable raised areas that would interfere with my needs, and I can't imagine it would interfere with straining spearamint leaf or ice etc. It is not highly polished, but fairly shiny semigloss, I expect this to last forever unless for some reason the weld breaks, but even the that is easily fixable! Direct honest info, count on it!!!

Good strainer
The strainer does its job well. It's clearly not an expensive tool, but I knew that when I bought it for $4. The edges are a little rough and the metal seems like it could bend under some pressure, but it works well, and as a home bar tool I don't need anything that's fancy or terribly robust. I try to keep it clean and dry, and have not had any rust issues in the few months that I've owned it. I've been happy with it.

Exactly what you'd expect for the price
Serves its purpose at straining, but the diameter is better suited for a shaker than a mixing beaker. It feels lighter to hold, flimsier, and less shiny than I would have thought looking at the picture. It also doesn't "catch" to the side of the container like a more premium strainer would. Not bad for a cheap starter set, but not something someone with more experience or a bigger budget should consider.

Very good deal!
OK, this is totally no-frills. I bought it based on a Hawthorne vs julep strainer article. The article compares the cocktail kingdom vs Oxo. Although I like the Oxo, they claim it sometime passes Ice slivers (which it does). So I wanted to test a Julep, which they claim, does not. They were right. Side by side, same mixing glass, Hawthorne let's slivers pass - julep does not. Now, as for the $5 JapanBargain (there are cheaper add-on items, but didn't want to wait) vs $20 Cocktail Kingdom? That will have to wait.

Priced Right, But not the right size for me.
I wish this item was bigger. Using my Boston shaker (glass end), I find it hard not to have fluid run past this on the sides and as a result it is not fully strained. I definitely need two hands to use this. Might be my technique, but it requires too much finesse for me. A Hawthorne is much easier to use, but it is not a fine enough stainer for some items. I would recommend a Hawthorne and wire mesh strainer used together, slightly more money but gets the job done for me.

Great strainer, pretty good quality for made in china
Great strainer, pretty good quality for made in china. Not 5 stars because its pretty rough finished, not one to leave on display but great function. Cant beat the price either. Never using one of those stupid strainers with the spring again at home, this works better.

It's a Julep Strainer, why is a review even necessary?
It works, it's great. You won't need this if you're going to make Bahama Mamas so hopefully you're looking at this product because you're actually a skilled bartender who knows something about a cocktail. If you wear a flat cap, a vest, and a bowtie when you bartend I don't even want to talk to you. You should be ashamed of yourself. This is a great product though and I needed to fill the review with 15 words or more so there it is. High-five.
