Nice Pictures of Completed Cards
I am disappointed with this book. For what I've seen of Sandy and her DIY segments, the book actually doesn't do better than what you could find on the DIY Scrapbooking site. In fact, you get full sized templates on the website. I prefer books that have good diagrams versus written instructions. In my personal opinion, diagrams when done right; are so much easier to follow. There are templates in the book, however you need to enlarge them 50% or more. Overall, if I'd reviewed this book before hand, I think I would have passed on buying it. If you do buy it, Amazon has the best price. A good reference book.

Creativity is unbelievable!
People who love papercrafts will be thrilled to have this book. The quality of the information, especially the photos, is impressive. The ideas present much more than the simple how-to on making cards. The creative colors, patterns and textures of the materials are fantastic in themselves. From these ideas I can implement various projects of my own. While a few diagrams might make the card construction a little more simple, the written instructions are thorough, especially in combination with the photos. I can't imagine anyone being anything pleased glad to have this book.

buy this book.
This is a great little book. It has very specific ideas that I can spin off of as well as templates for cutting the pop up parts. I am a total beginner in pop-up art, but in little time--even having to cut each piece by hand--it was wonderful. I also bought another book about popup cards that was better recommended, but this is far more practical. Love it!

Good Book for Beginners in Making Pop-ups
There are many pop-ups shown, but I am not as good an artist as the author. I can't draw things quite as well, but she does have patterns in the back to use to help. I am just beginning to make cards with pop-up interiors and she has good instructions to help you.

Looks good!
The book has fairly good instructions. Some of the instructions you just have to try to figure out but I don't think there are any projects that can't be by a determined novice. I look forward to making my first pop-up card.

Pop-Up Cards: and Other Greetings that Slide,Dangle & Move
Love these ideas and designs but this is not a book for someone new to making cards. I had to really practice making a card to get the technique correct and be happy with my cards. The directions need more clarity But the cards are really nice and I will continue to learn the ins and outs of card making.

Lively, fun, instructional book
As always, Sandi Genovese presents a colorful, fun, book. She has such a good eye and is very good at giving instructions so that even I can master the project. This book has beginner to more difficult projects. I got this book to give my 12 year old granddaughter some idea of what we could make and this book didn't disappoint us. Great book!

Not recommended as other than a 'nice to have'
This gets 2 stars because I couldn't give it 2.5 stars and felt the average deserved to go down rather than up.I was disappointed with this book as it is definitely not for someone wanting to learn to make card pop-up cards and the mechanics of such (as it is presented as), but is rather more of an ideas and examples resource for someone who is already experienced and has the equipment. Her list of most 'basic' tools and materials contains a "computer and printer", a "die-cut machine and dies" (!) and "paper punches in various shapes and sizes". So, before you even start buying materials to create your cards, that's hundreds of pounds in outlay required for tools.Bar one diagram, the instructions are completely text procedures, which I consider to be both unhelpful and dismally inadequate for an instructional craft book. The photos show the finished result only, and I was not impressed with either the length or clarity of the text procedures. I also thought the layout design was poor and the colouring of the layout was ugly.If you are a complete novice or advanced beginner, this book will mostly just teach you how to be frustrated.Having said that, there are very useful scalable templates at the back of the book for the cards (so you will also need a photocopier to add to that list of tools) and for a non-beginner, some good ideas and interesting starting points.Overall, a low on the list 'nice to have' if you are already on the path of the card making hobby, but otherwise I would look for a better guide to first steps and learning the mechanics of pop up cards for those new to it.

he was disappointed with it because there were very few true pop ...
I purchased this book for my crafty hubby. Unfortunately, he was disappointed with it because there were very few true pop up card projects in it. The book had a whole last chapter of templates for different sized envelopes which seemed pointless when you can easily buy these ready-made. A lot of the project patterns need enlarging on a photocopier/printer. It would have been helpful if I/he could have had a pre-view inside this book on-line.

Outdated
Very outdated, took me back to the 1970's, would not recommend even for a beginner
