recoat concrete bird bath
My deep concrete bird bath had become etched/pitted over the years and I attempted to fix it 2 yrs ago with craft paint. It was not made for underwater and it was looking shabby this year. I did not use the whole container of the marine paint since it was just a birdbath. I mixed 1/2 of each ingredient in a plastic throw away tub. Prepped the surface well and painted it. Stored it in our garden shed in a wheel barrow for 2 days to finish the cure before it would get wet. I am thrilled with how easy the birdbath is to rinse and refill now. Smooth surface just a whisk of a brush and new water. I purchased the white color after reading reviews that the blue was very blue.

I used the product on a 50 year old bird bath fountain. I used the white and it is beautiful. It is a pearl in color when it drys. I did do the prep scraping, power washing and then using a soap to remove all grime. I am very satisfied with the result.

Did not work on concrete fountain
I used this on an 20+ year old fountain. Did not adhere to the surface. Bubbles and peeled immediately when I rinsed the fountain after waiting more than the recommended 48 hours. In preparation I wire brushed entire surface thoroughly and bleached to remove all old residue and algae. Left empty to dry completely for 4 days. Very unhappy after spending a lot of time and money.

Pretty Good Stuff
The fountain is concrete based with fiberglass embedded strains. The top part, removable, was badly deteriorated with only concrete showing. The paint is pretty thin and appears to be a form of acrylic with epoxy. I put on one coat with plenty of time before it hardened. I used a plastic dish to mix the paint. After it dried in the dish it came off easy and the paint was not as flexible as pure acrylic latex paint.I only mixed 1/2 and may second coat it later. The only issue I had was that the fountain top bubbled through the paint. Both top and bottom were pressured washed the same way. I account this to preparation.I would like to have added some epoxy micro beads to the paint to make it thicker. Not sure if the OEM would recommend it.The finished fountain is very white and looks new. Need to revisit this rating to see how it stands up to weather.I close the fountain and cover it during the winter.

Some of the best and easy two-part epoxies that I've mute and I used to do swimming pools a lot
It was easy to mix both ways they told you so you didn't have to figure the difference between the time I make a mistake
