At 460 pages, it's layout makes it very easy to pick an era and dive deep into the people, cultures and events that serve to inform the fashion of that time. Informative, educational and at times a sweet trip down memory lane.

A good reference book

What a beautiful and comprehensive book ! Each chapter is devoted to a particular decade and broken down into social, economic , and artistic background of the era, basic fashion shapes and innovations, designers, with sub-topics such as outerwear, sportswear, hair and beauty, children's wear, menswear, lingerie, as well as topics germane to each decade. It is lavishly illustrated, with images that are mostly new to me. The text is delightful and informative, but never dry or academic. Highly recommended !
