SMJ' s review
Not as good as Dark Lycan, but better than Dark Wolf. This book was a solid three and a half to four stars to me until the last battle when it shot up to a solid five stars. I will try not to give to much of the plot away, because another review did that, which to me is just wrong, but what I will say is some had an issue with the direction they felt the author was taking the book and the series in, that I have a problem with. Why, because anyone who has been reading this series from the beginning knows this is not a new direction for the series. If those people who had a problem with the direction the book went in will go back and read Dark Demon, Dark Curse, and especially Dark slayer they will see the series has been going into this direction for some time now. Again I don't want to give anything away but it was a good read the two major plot lines were not a surprise because they had already been laid out in other books. I only had one issue with the book and that's the fact that the two dragonseeker women keep something to themselves for two years while living in the mist of the Carpathian that they should have told them, and of course it came back to haunt them in this book, but I found it hard to believe the Carpathian would not have this information after Natalya came into the series in Dark Demon. The fight scene s were well done. The dragonseeker women are strong and not to be screwed with, and the humor in this book was off the charts funny. However my favorite couple in the trilogy remains Fen and Taj. I have to also admit I shed a tear or two at the shocker we got at the end of the final battle, but it was still all good, that twist wasn't nearly as bad as what we got with Riley and her mom in Dark storm. A good author takers her readers on a ride, making them feel whatever the author what's the reader to experience. In this book I went on a wild ride feeling everything from, humor, to joy, to sadness, and loss. This book was an excellent read, this book will be going onto my keeper shelf.

This book was a triumph, melding beautifully all the storylines before it!!
I have been a fan of Ms. Feehan's Dark Hunter serious for years although for awhile there the storylines were predictable and only the great chemistry between her heroine and hero made them worth reading. However, with the onset of the last 3 books focusing on the Lycan and Carpathian mixed bloods and the growing friendship and bloodline between Fen, Dimitri and Zev and the Dragonseeker women, did we get something very unique and special. Ms.Feehan's sense of humor and play really shone in these books. It was wonderfully interwoven between the heated, suspense and action as well as during the sensual scenes (which in this book were especially delicious and racy!!!) We hadn't seen that sense of family and play since the initial books focusing on Mikhail and Gregori and it was wonderful to see them back engaged in the action in these books again. I also lived hearing about and seeing all of their young thriving and happy. So great to know there will be future Carpathian books to enjoy with the antics of the little price and his twin cousins! My favorite scene though had to be the impromptu dancing party. My heart was so touched to see all the characters I'd come to love over the years together again and at peace ...in spite of everything. We should see more of them all casually together like we did in this book. Dark Blood is now my favorite of the series because it had all the elements which I love so much in Ms. Feehan's books: wicked chemistry, strong, interesting characters both male and female, steamy and unique sex scenes, intricate and suspenseful plot development and a HEA ending. Doesn't get any better than that for me. Brava, Ms. Feehan. This is a tour development force!!!

Could Have Been Better
Dark Blood was a story I was excited to read. We all knew that Zev and Bronnie were destined to be together since Dark Lycan. I loved and respected Zen in the previous books he was in. His story however, made me loose just a bit of that respect. This review will contain some spoilers in the next two paragraphs.Zev was a character that in previous books seemed like a perfect gentleman. He wasn't good with woman but was instantly attracted to Bronnie. In this book he does a few things that made me loose respect for him. Mainly everything he does sexually just completely turned me stomach. It is no secret from previous book reviews that I already skim over 90% of every sex scene and this book was no slightly different. I found I was actually so horrified by some of his actions in his sex scenes that I had to stop reading before I could go back. And that was with my skimming. Yes he is a Lycan, an animal, but he just turned my stomach with his actions towards her.I also was flustered with the high mage now being one of three. I don't think them being triplets bothered me so much as the lack of creativity with their names. However, I did find this to be a good book in every aspect other than the abysmal sex scenes and the names of the high mages. Mrs. Feehan usually gives readers high hopes for a good final battle scene and then typically rushes through it leaving the reader slightly let down. This book is not the case. This book had a phenomenal final battle scene which makes this book definitely worth the read.

Love!
Dark Blood, book 26 of the series Dark, by Christine Feehan & it's time to read the series from the beginning again! This will be my 2nd time through the most recent book. @authorcfeehan is one of my favorite authors. This book picks up right after Dark Wolf ends & is Zev & Branislava’s story. Zev was fatally wounded & to save him, Branislava merged their life forces together. Branislava knew that Zav was her lifemate but Zev was raised as Lycan & did not know he was part Carpathian. They bind themselves as lifemates & take down the Lycans that were on the council/packs in the mage's power. What a fantastic book! Love!

Objective Review from a sometimes fan
Ok, I feel like I need to write a review in defence of this book. I read all of the Dark series up to, I think Dark Celebration and maybe a few others. I love the one’s in South America and I know Razvan’s story, and the Dragonseeker storyline so even though I missed some, I didnt feel like i had many missing pieces to the over arching story line. This is the culmination of a 3 book story line with the Lycans and honestly, I devoured all three books while on holiday and this is a lot for me because due to personal circumstances I havent read a new book for about 3 years.I loved this one over all of the 3. I love Zev and I know a lot of people have said the love scenes bordered on rape, but you know... I really loved it! I loved the way Zev was so dominant over Branka, I LOVED the sensual consensual almost brutal why he loved her. the passion and loss of control he has around her really revved my motor. So many sex scenes leave me cold, I can’t bear all the fawning wet lovey dovey mush. I want fire, passion, screaming and beds being ripped apart. Even in Twilight which is YA and teen romance, when Edward rips the bed apart in his passion it made my heart race. I love it! In fact if anyone has any recomendations for books with similar hot passion please leave a comment 😁The storyline was excellent, ther battles were epic, the commeraderie betweent Fen, Dimitri and Zev made me feel warm and fuzzy inside. And she didnt use the line “her narrow ribcage” once!! Well done Christine!Has anyone imagined a gathering of the lifemates? Nearly all are small, curvey with waist length curly or wavy hair, big breasts, narrow ricage (eyeroll) tucked in waist, porcelein skin. It would be a gathering of women who a just clones of each other with different coloured hair. Switch it up a bit CFApart from that, this is a great book. I was really sorry i finished it.

Dark Bood
