Great value for replacement batteries
I have the Uniden phone system with nine cordless phones. Seems like a lot of phones, but I have found the ability to have a phone in every room connected to the same phone system to be advantageous. I have had the phones for over four years, and the batteries on a few phones had failed, although the original batteries lasted well over three years before they failed. As my phone system is still working well, and even losing a couple of phones would still meet my needs, I felt replacing batteries to be a better option than buying a new phone system that, with at least six handsets, would cost me at least $100 for a low end system. I like the answering machine integrated, making it accessible from any of the handsets. These batteries were priced at just over $4 each, and if you go to the stores, your going to pay double or triple that for a generic replacement battery, and you don't know how old that battery has been sitting around. Although these batteries may have been in the warehouse for two years, I felt the price made it worth the gamble.I ordered six batteries, although I probably only needed four or five, again, the price made it a great buy, and within months I would need another battery or two. I did change out a battery that I had originally believed was working, but the handset is rarely used. The batteries arrived within the requested delivery time, two days with my prime membership, and free shipping. These are not items that can sustain damage in shipment, however, they were shipped in a box that would probably accomodate two hardcover books, and did not have any filler (bags filled with air) leaving the batteries to fly around in the box. They are wrapped in a plastic wrapper with a barcode and number printed on it. But the label on the battery can be easily viewed through the platic wrapper. There really aren't any directions needed to installing these batteries, so I don't see a need to waste any further packaging on these.I have not had time to use these batteries fully, however, the image on Amazon shows an 800 mAh battery, but all six of mine arrived with the label showing a 900 mAh battery. This should be a good thing, as that should provide more time off the charging base and talk time on the phone. This makes this an even better deal, as I believe most replacement batteries for the Uniden phone are in the 700 - 800 mAh range. For the higher capacity batteries and the price, although not knowing if the batteries will hold out well, I feel these deserve a five star rating. If I find any issues within the first six months of use, I will revise my rating and review. I am at this point completely satisfied with my purchase.

Different size, but it will work
A little disappointed. I ordered the BT-446. What i got was BT-909. Now it will fit in the phone but it is smaller. It is the same voltage 3.6v and 800mAh is also the same. Is there a real difference? Looks like just the size is different. I did know that the BT-909 would fit because my other Uniden uses the smaller BT-909. If i wanted that battery that is what i would have ordered! I wanted the larger BT-446, not what i got. I will keep it because it will still work and the cost was low. Will it last as long as the larger battery, don't know. There must be a reason they make larger ones. We will have to see. You can see the different size in the photo. Top photo is BT-446 from my phone. The bottom pic is the one i was sent, it does say BT-446. But is is really a BT-909. This is just info for everyone. I just saw that there are over 900 reviews. Wow that is alot. How many people are not reviewing this battery, just wondering. I put the battery in, has a small charge. I am running it all the way down before charging overnight. Fingers crossed. lolUPDATE 12/17/2014. It has only been a day. I installed it and it had about 20% charge. So i discharged it. The phone ran for about 2 hours on the 20% charge. That is a very good sign. Charged over night to a full charge, works great so far. Bumped up to 4 and a half stars. I have bought after markart phone batteries before. I have NEVER had a problem with them. My guess is, this is a very good battery. I do recommend.Installed by Critronics of Colorado.

My repeat experience with these batteries is EXCELLENT
I've had a Uniden cordless phone set (6 handsets) for about 8 years. The phones are doing just fine, but the batteries just quit after a while. Used to be I'd buy $30 replacement batteries, but the last three times I bought batteries, I bought these. What's to complain about? About every year, year-and-a-half I pay all of $6 for a battery the brings life back to my $200 phone system...batteries that otherwise cost 5x as much. I'm back to buy another batch of six batteries, and I noticed the number of people complaining about the lifespan, hence me writing my first review of these after being a repeat customer for years. The alternatives are to buy a new phone system for $100-$200, buy massively more expensive batteries and hope for a better lifespan, or buy these inexpensive batteries that work like CHAMPS for a year or two. I think of them like the batteries in my smoke alarms.Trust me, spending 5x as much on another OEM battery won't get you a battery that lasts 5x as long. Spending 5x the price for a battery that lasts 2x as long is bad math. Buy 'em cheap, replace 'em often. 'Nuff said. I'm off to my shopping cart.

I'm ordering a couple more
These are just a bit shorter than the BT-1005 and BT-446 batteries in my phones, but they have a higher capacity (800 mAh vs. 750 mAh) than the BT-1005, so the size is not a problem. In fact, it turned out to be a good thing when I had to replace the battery in one of my older Uniden phones, which had a much wider but slightly shorter NiCd battery. I had to put a piece of foam padding in the battery compartment to keep it from rattling around in there, but it works fine and has a 33% higher capacity than the old battery had when it was new. Now I'm ordering two more: one to replace the battery in a Panasonic phone (which also has a larger battery) and one to keep as a spare. (NiMH batteries have a decent shelf life if you charge them to about 80%.) I can't comment on the battery life yet, since I've only had the two I bought for a couple of months, but the size makes these things an almost universal replacement battery (although nothing could be truly universal--there are some real oddball batteries out there), and the capacity is at least as good as anything you'd be replacing with it.
