Great Service, Great Product
This seller and this product both get a solid 5 stars. First of all, the customer service is absolutely fantastic. I did a dumb thing and forgot to update my current address, so the shipping info was wrong. Before i had a chance to go in and change it the next morning, this seller had already sent the package out (talk about fast). I entered in my change of address with USPS (literally had just moved and hadn't done any of this yet), but I still got a note from Amazon stating that shipping was halted and that the package could not be delivered. I asked for a refund, and was promptly and politely guaranteed said refund. Well, somehow the package still got to me, and 8 days earlier than the estimated delivery date! The package was intact, the glass bottle was very securely wrapped, and the product was as described. Needless to say I'm now a loyal customer! Now onto the actual cod liver oil (or gel). I need supplements because I'm a vegetarian (well truthfully, a pescatarian because I obviously eat fish) and a college student. What does this mean? It means I live off of cheap food that's easy to make and isn't good for me. I'm in nursing school and was creating a teaching plan for one of my patients. While trying to show the patient how to use My Fitness Pal for nutrition tracking, I caught a glimpse of my own MFP diary. Guess who's only getting 2% of the vitamin A she needs, but is telling her patients that they need to eat a more nutritious diet? That would be me. This is my first time trying any type of cod liver oil. It seemed like a no-brainer to me; it has Vitamin A, D, K2, plus Omega 3. Even though this seems like a hefty price to pay for one supplement, it's certainly reasonable considering that one quality bottle of any of those vitamins costs around $15--getting 4 vitamins packed into one bottle is worth the higher cost. The reason I chose fermented cod liver oil is because fermented seems to be the purest way to get these vitamins--most other cod liver oil companies use high amounts of heat in their processes, essentially destroying the vitamins naturally present in the CLO, meaning that they have to add synthetic vitamins back in at the end. I did a lot of research about which brand to go with, and found that Green Pasture seemed to be the way to go. I encourage you to do your own research too! FCLO is not for everyone (and if you have a question about it or have a health problem--especially cardiovascular issues--totally disregard this review and ask your doctor about it). As for the taste--I wasn't brave enough to try this right away. I bought the gel because it was more cost effective, but I was nervous. I plugged my nose, placed the oil at the back of my tongue to avoid torturing as many tastebuds as possible, and swallowed quickly with a swig of Diet Coke for a chaser. (Yes, I know Diet Coke is unhealthy. I know it's an oxymoron to take a health supplement with something like Diet Coke. I don't even care a little.) I bought the chocolate flavored one, and luckily the chocolate overpowers the fish IF YOU PLUG YOUR NOSE. You have to plug your nose. Don't test that--I'm the type of person that always has to touch a hot plate after a server warns me not to touch it--and of course I did that with the fish oil (I'm Irish and stubborn). Don't do that. Also, this oil sticks around in your mouth if you don't wash it down with something. Don't wash it down with water. That will do absolutely nothing for you. Get something acidic, like a carbonated beverage--even club soda. The acid/carbonation will help to break down the oil. Washing it down with Diet Coke completely took away any aftertaste. So in short--the chocolate flavor was a win, the taste and texture isn't bad at all if you plug your nose, and an acidic chaser helps with residue. So two thumbs up!

Great for kids
Only cod liver product that I have found my kids can tolerate taking. The chocolate flavor hides the taste enough that even my youngest takes it with no issue. Smell is not super strong and the product has always been high quality. We have successfully used this product to heal cavities in the past and are doing so again.

Remineralizing teeth: initial review, *updated
I think the awfulness of this is greatly exaggerated, as some other reviewers have said. Is it delicious? No, but not disgusting either. Granted, I think this may also have to do with our diet (which will further support our goals of taking this stuff anyway). We no longer eat wheat or processed sugar. The seed grains, nuts, and legumes that we do eat are first soaked to help remove phytic acid. All of this has changed our taste buds. All of my four children gladly take their fish oil. The first few days it was done with a grimace, but without coercion. Now they are glad to do it.. As my 9 year old says, it is weird tasting, but not nasty. This is with the chocolate, but my kids are looking forward to trying cinnamon tingle when we run out. We had JUST started our fclo regimen when we went to the dentist and discovered that my almost 7 year old has some "decay" on her back molars. This decay is not visibly apparent, but the the dentist wants to fill them anyway. I am taking it as further sign that it is minimal decay that the dentist said they would do it without any anasthetic.....must not need to be drilled, by their own admittance. My oldest has some serious enamel issues and demineralizaton on his teeth. Some of his baby teeth erupted with an enamel deformity that means part of the tooth has an overly thick layer of enamel (causing one kind of discoloration) and part has no enamel to speak of (causing the standard white spots of demineralization). Overseas, the dentists treated this without fluoride (other than toothpaste), but interestingly, it wasn't until about a year of receiving standard US dental care and fluoride treatments that he actually developed any decay. My hope is to come back in a couple of months and update this review with the progress on their teeth. *update. I haven't been as regimented as I'd intended to be with using our FCLO. Eventually, I was down to just one dose a day, just from the burden of trying to remember to dose everyone several times a day. That said, I haven't necessarily seen improvement in their teeth so much as holding steady. The "almost" cavity my daughter had is still at the same point, and as of last check up, there was no new decay. I will continue using it and would like to resume a more disciplined approach again and see what our outcome would be. We did find that the cinnamon tingle seems to be the most palatable flavor for my family.

Best thing for our health
My whole family has been taking this for over a year now. My hair stopped falling out, my kids immune systems are much stronger and my husbands blood pressure came down to normal. Highly recommend!!

Not right.
We’ve been taking this product for 8-10 years and this product tastes weird and will not gel up in the fridge. Something is wrong with it. I tried calling customer service and I’m not able yet to get a hold of anyone. I will update if I contact anyone. The usual product is excellent, there is something wrong with this.

Great supplement and easy to take
I prefer getting nutrients from real food rather than a lab, and this is one of the best ones you can take. You get the fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K, including K2) as well as Omega 3 fatty acids. None of these are truly obtainable from plants, which only provide precursors that the human body doesn’t convert in large enough amounts to be useful. There's also probably nutrients that we simply don't know about yet. I started this along with several other changes such as cutting out sugar & grains, so it's hard to tell what helped the most, but I find I'm now much more resilient to colds (including the Big C), and many annoying little health problems such as plantar fasciitis and cankersores disappeared. This is especially good for us older folks; I give it to my mother too, and she also has seen some similarly positive results. A tip for usability: keep this in the fridge. The solid form is easier to serve out and way less messy than the liquid oil, and also does a better job of hiding the taste of cod liver oil. Update: Unfortunately, this product is now shipped in a bag, not a box. As a result, it arrived broken. The seller does not accept returns. I was able to get Amazon to refund the purchase price, but they said they would only do that once. I ordered again thinking this was just a mistake, but it again came in a bag (not broken fortunately). So, unfortunately I can no longer buy this product on Amazon - I get it directly from the manufacturer instead.

Taste a great.
I’ve purchased this a a few times and the taste is great. It tastes like cinnamon butter, but it does have a hint of a fish aftertaste. Nothing like taking plain cod liver oil. The quality is great and comes highly recommended by Weston price.
