You'll want to get used to this before you need it.
When I first got it, I had to double check because I couldn't find all the tools I remembered seeing on the pen itself. Turns out after looking at the pictures again, I figured out that they're all there, but you _will_ have to figure out how to get to them all. On the outside is just the flashlight, the glass breaker, and the "rope processor." (Um...what's a rope processor?) You have to unscrew the bottom part off to get to the pen, and then you have to screw off the glass breaker to uncover the stylus. Then to get to the "multi-tool head," you have to unscrew the stylus to uncover that! And then for the whistle that comes with it (on the side), to carry that with you, you have to unscrew the aforementioned tool head off and replace it with the whistle (I decided not to bother - I haven't gotten the whistle to actually make any loud noise, and the tool head is probably going to be more useful to me).Once I did all this, I was able to reconfigure it the way I wanted, so it's got some great versatility that way - I figured I'll use the pen most often, so I moved everything so that the pen point is what comes under the glass breaker so I can unscrew that and then hold it like an actual pen would feel, but you can move things around per your preference, so there's a plus to that.So yeah - it's an all around sturdy tool. In terms of features, it would be nice if there were a way to store the whistle in the pen itself so I could swap it out easily rather than just leaving it in the box. It would also be nice if the whistle actually worked, but maybe I need to figure that one out too. ;-)

Not just for men!
I highly recommend these be in every woman's handbag. They're easy to carry and versatile in many situations. I gifted one to my friends daughter as a graduation gift before she left for college. She can easily carry it with her for protection and other uses.

This is an awesome product with tons of great uses daily; opening packages, opening Mail, handy pen, light and multitool. The pen writes smoothly!
