Very high grade and expensive compared to others. Aluminium top with plastic and non slip rubber base. USB C and heavy cable add to stability.I have used many different makes of enclosure and this is the most expensive but also the best. The drive is held securely and looses heat better then any other make I have used.. I have two of these in everyday use for nearly a year with no issues

Paired with: Samsung 870 EVOSo far the enclosure has worked without fault. Seems a lot harder to remove SSD than installing. Performance meets the advertised numbers but isn't an issue for general storage.As its being used for console storage, I've not seen the "sleep" function in use. Even when the console is completely shut down it seems to be in stand-by mode.Cant speak about the lifespan as only had it for two weeks. Will update if the enclosure fails.

Obvious signs of previous usage and parts missing when unpacked. The case was very nice aesthetically but unable to comment further as item faulty returned forthwith.

Good Quality product. Nice and simple to insert the SSD or HDD(I did not try HDD but I guess it should work the same way as SSD).I did not see the sleep mode working as I can see the LED is always on. But I did not test it properly and it do not bother me much as I connect the drive only when I need it.Speed seems to be better compared to the previous adapter I was using.Overall very satisfied with the buy.

Am really glad I chose this more premium HDD Case than cheaper makes!. It’s a solid Aluminium & hybrid matte plastic on underside. And as it’s made from aluminium, it does a good job of not overheating itself whilst Hdd is in use , it also does a real good job of keeping things fast and smooth using the UASP protocol, especially as I’m using a Hybrid SSD from Seagate to keep my games on. It does warm up a little purely because of the fast data transfer of the drive and power , but within a minute or less it feels cool to the touch , so heat dissipation is fantastic. I definitely recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a more premium product to keep a 2.5inch HDD/SSD/Hybrid drive inside.

It sits behind my computer and works away silently. No issues setting it up or swapping in and out drives. I use it for storing large data files that I want to be able to move easily between machines. So it's function over form for me. Having said that the finish is perfectly fine. Well manufactured with tight seals and a spacer to secure the drive when you insert it. No operating noise that I can hear. I am not travelling with it it so I can't comment on whether it is scratch resistant. Overall, very happy as a tidy external drive that sits nice and tidily on my desk and would buy again.

I bought 2 of these to replace outdated aluminium enclosures. Very disappointed.This product was advertised with a solid aluminium case. In fact the case is 80% plastic, inside and outside. The only bit that is aluminium(some sort of alloy) is a thin cover on top of the plastic underneath and that's only on top. HDD's/SSD's produce substantial amounts of heat and the advert claims this case, being aluminium??, will dissipate this heat, and it will, provided the case was truly aluminium, as claimed. To the contrary, because of the amount of plastic, which acts as an insulator, any disc could suffer from overheating, thereby shortening it's life.As an added bonus, the enclosure is fitted with one of the latest chipsets i.e. AS235CM, which futureproofed the product somewhat, although I wouln't need all its facilities now. However, I've done some research into enclosures and have read several comments, from those in the know, that several cases tested were in fact fitted with the less capable ASM1153E chipset. This issue, unimportant to me initially, has heightened my awareness that this product from the aluminium claims/chipset claims is not going to satisfy my requirements.I certainly haven't got what I ordered.I've now got to spend, at least, another £5 per enclosure to get a solid aluminum case. It's not the cost but all the faffing about to get what you needed in the 1st place. I wish manufacturer/retailer adverts were thruthful. To my mind, this is gross misrepresentation by UGREEN/Amazon.Buyer Beware!

This is really well made. The build quality jumps out at as soon as you take it out of the box. It comes with good quality cables too, 1 regular USB to micro USB and one usb to USB C.I was so impressed with this I purposely looked out for items made by the same brand when looking for cables and stuff. I got a few cables since, all are really well made.I haven't used any other brands so can't say if this quality is the norm for this type of product or these guys are the exception and make things that bit better. Judging by their cables and this, I'd say these guys make things that bit better.Hope this helps you make the right choice for you.
