I just got this doll this morning and i LOVE her (i'm big Maddie fan
I just got this doll this morning and i LOVE her (i'm big Maddie fan :3 ) BTW she does come with necklace that can be removed but my doll didn'T come with hair brush (it doesn'T really bother me tho) the thing that bothers me is that mattel decided to give her painted tights and by taht i mean colored plastic with painted dots so if your daughter/son is like me and my lil sister, she or he will be lil sad about that. One would hope that now that doll is this tall that she could have for example ankles (i know that would be too much but i'm still hoping that one day my doll will be able to wear flat shoes too) After all she's really pretty and i love her :) Just one thing when it comes to amazon packaging, i think you sent her in really big box and gave her less .. that plastic wrap than was needed, her box on the top was little but cracked but the doll herself is ok :) Amazon delivery was so cool cause when there was problem i could just chat with them over the internet and they were so kind and helped me with everything :)

Pretty, cheerful, big doll
Pros 1. This is an amazing doll for the price and pretty 2. The stand is nice 3. She poses well but can only wear heels (feet not adjustable) 4. The colors are beautiful and cheerful 5. The hair is soft and pretty Cons 1. A little bit of blue paint, from the painted on dots, was smudged. 2. When I saw her arms through the packaging they looked like they were chewed, because the plastic was so rough in spots. 3. I didn't like the hump back look of the doll. The neck looks more ghoulish than I expected. 4. The teacup headband is fixed on her head with plastic tag fasteners. She had 3 of those same fasteners in the back of her head and 2 in her dress to hold her to the package. So take care removing her from the package. She came with a blue necklace but no earrings and no piercing.

A good doll, but the Monster High dolls in this size are much better.
The good: The bodies on these dolls are SPECTACULAR, with much better articulation than the little dolls. They are so well balanced they can even stand on their own, but they also come with a stand if you aren't good at balancing them. The bad: Not as much attention was paid to upscaling these as the Monster High dolls. First, she's on a Monster High shaped body, which looks a little weird if you're used to the short/curvy Madeline body, but you get used to it. Factory-wise, the dress is simplified from the original version and she has painted on tights (the Monster High dolls were more detailed in the face/outfit than their original small version and did not get any of their clothes painted on as substitutes). Her hair is also lank, matted, and unevenly cut. Oh, and mine's left eye is bigger than her right eye. So if you're looking for a doll for your kid in the big line and your kid likes both Monster High and Ever After High... get the Monster High big dolls. They're much nicer quality. If your kid loves Ever After High only or just REALLY loves Maddie? Still get this doll. Most of the problems are things a kid wouldn't notice or care about, while the good part (the super poseable body) is something kids will.

I Love Her!!
I am a collector of Ever After and Monster dolls and I'm very happy with her. Great details on her hat, necklace, and shoes. Her hair is very soft, her dress is beautiful. There have been complaints that she has no tights but I have Gooliope Jellington, she has no tights either and is still awesome. I don't think it's necessary and feel they would probably just get all caught up in her knee joints anyway. She looks great without them. I do agree however that they shouldn't mention a purse in the product description above that isn't there, but again Gooliope doesn't have a purse either and I didn't expect one so wasn't disappointed. I only wish she had her spoon earrings. I almost didn't buy her because of the other reviews but I'm so happy I got her anyway!!! As long as you don't expect tights and a purse you won't be disappointed, she's great and beautiful!!

Lovely doll!
Mine came perfectly. No defects. I hate that the stockings are painted on and that the hands are blue but that's not the seller's fault plus I customize dolls and was planning to give her an entirely new skin tone all together anyways so no big deal. But yes the legs are painted on and if ANYONE needed to know, yes she fits 17 inch monster high doll clothes and shoes and they fit hers.

Great articulation
She's beautiful. Favorite addition to my collection. She comes with a solid blue necklace, the same one that comes with her original doll just a larger scale. I painted the bow on mine gold like her original. She comes with a teacup headband like the original just without the gold detailing. She does come with a stand but no hair brush which I don't mind. The only other accessories she comes with are the ruffles on her wrists for her gloves. Her tights are painted on which I don't prefer. The gloves on her hands has circle indentions where the polka dots are supposed to go but they aren't painted (I painted mine) The hair is typical box hair. Not too much gel, definitely a plus. If you want her hair to be curly you'll need to do a boil wash. Her head is made of a harder plastic than what the normal sized dolls are made with, it's not squishy at all so rerooting will be slightly more difficult if you plan to customize this doll. The joints are amazing. Both the arms and legs can bend a lot further than the normal dolls. The knees and elbows are double jointed so it can bend further. Her upper thighs and upper arms have an additional joint that the normal ones don't so the arms and legs can turn more. There is articulation in her chest under her breasts so she can bend there as well as at the waist. If you want something similar to a bjd but don't want to break the bank this is the perfect doll for you.

~Her face paint is lovely. ~Her double jointed elbows/knees + jointed torso makes for great poses. ~Absolutely love her size. ~Would recommend.

Beautiful doll my daughter loves it

I love the doll but there is one HUGE flaw that took this from 5 stars to 3. The legs are painted. She is not wearing tights like the smaller version of this doll but just has dots painted on her legs. It looks cheap and ruins your ability to do different things with her, like wear other clothing.

I found Maddie to be a little disappointing, next to my other 17" Mattel Dolls, specifically the Monster High dolls.. I find that a Lot of her little details were left out, and frankly, she looks wierd to me on the taller, slimmer, Monster High body. She also has a bit of a head issue, since her head is heavier/bigger than the designed body for MH.. She would have been so cute with her petite figure and shorter legs, but I can see Why she was done this way from Mattel's point of view.. The cost of creating a whole new mold, especially for just one trial run doll... I was disappointed that so many of her details weren't painted- on her cup-hat and on her shoes.. or the gold bow on her necklace.. all things I can do for myself, but at the higher price point for this doll, I shouldn't have to. Very disappointed about her painted on stockings.. but again. Over-all I will grow to love her, even if she looks weird, she Is Maddie after all! and still my Favorite EAH character. But I feel a little more time could have been put into her details. She is still a lovely doll, despite my complaints, and I think that any younger fans would quite enjoy her.
