Small sturdy shovel
Shovel as advertised. It is small but I expected that from reading reviews. Seems sturdy enough. Perfect for camping. The pick is pretty blunt

Made strong
The shovel is made well, almost as good as the ones we had in the service of 60's & 70's,the only gripe is the handle doesn't have any curves. It's just as large at the shovel end as it is at the end of the shovel, allowing your hand to eastly slip off, if it gets wet or muddy. Out comes the rasp.

Solid unit!
Solid unit and better than one with a hollow handle. This should last a long time!

Great
Great shovel. Keep it in the truck for snow if I get stuck at least I have something to help clear the path.

Good quality and easy to customize
My overall thoughts: - Feels very sturdy. Both the locking mechanism and the handle feel solid - The pick does "push" into the handle a little bit as others have mentioned - The shovel and pick attachment are held on with a bolt that you can take out using two allen wrenches - The bolt looks like it was blue loc tited in but it came out relatively easily - I see this as a feature since if you want to convert this into just a shovel or just a pick, it's really easy to do so. - I used to have a military surplus folding shovel that was very similar to this but the handle on that one was longer. As others have mentioned, keep this in mind and double check the product length. Overall, for the price this is a great deal for a useful tool either in camp or around the garden.

Good military style shovel
Basically, it's an M1943 military entrenching tool, like your grandpa carried in Korea. As such there's nothing fancy about it, but it's a proven, sturdy design. The blade and pick lock out in the various positions and can be easily used as intended. I used it for digging in a constricted area where I didn't have room for a normal shovel and it did the trick. I'm pleased with my purchase.

Very well made, quality production. Just the right size for storage and application. Sharpe side for chopping roots, carry pouch is great.

Very happy with this folding shovel. Great for gardening. It is sturdier and wider than many others on the market. I truly recommend this one.

Good mid range pack shovel. I have not put it through any rigorous test. But stood up well to fairly dry and clay soil. Well made. Good so far, time will test the durability of it. The pouch is well made too. Better than my prior one (can't recall who made that one) which had a flimsy nylon one.

Haven't used yet. First impressions it seems quite durable. Handle is solid hardwood! Only metric measurements though...needs imperial as well. Will update if anything changes

I mainly bought this for moving soil around in my raised garden beds. For that, it'll last forever. I needed to chop out the sod and some fairly hard clay to level the ground for 2 new beds I was putting in. I thought what the heck. Let's give it a go and see if this thing is good or junk. Now, I wasn't bending over backwards touching the ground to start each swing, but I wasn't being really easy on it either. I'm a 240lb mechanic, so not exactly a small fella. It's as solid as when I started. I wouldn't try prying a car up off the ground with it, but for hacking at the ground with the shovel part, I have absolutely no complaints. I don't know if I'd try chopping down a tree with it. I doubt it would hold up to that for very long, but it's a $40 tool, not a $300 tool. Not only would I recommend this to a friend, I already have.
