Tested it in wet, dry, and semi damp soil and seems to work well. My helicopter plant mom parenting style causes me to sometimes over water and this is great to let my babies breathe a little in between waterings. I wipe it down after each use and I hope it continues to work for a long while.

Love these. I give it away as gifts to anyone I know who has plants. It works so you don't over water or under water your plants. I haven't had problems with fungus knats killing my plants due over watering since got. The longer ones of this product work great in raise gardens

This meter helped us maintain the proper moisture in the flowers, and plants that we brought in to our insulated, heated, space in our garage. Absolutely simple to use, easy to read, very handy. Plants made it through the winter successfully, probably thanks to having the proper moisture, thank you little device.

I use this on indoor houseplants. Not sure that it is really all that much better than just looking and feeling the top surface of soil. But I feel like a pro when I use it - it seems very scientific to use an instrument with a dial instead of just looking to see if things are dry, like I should be wearing a lab coat and safety goggles and recording my observations on a clipboard! So I'm still using it on occasion, but I am not sure it helps me compared to just looking at the soil and deciding that way if it needs water or not.

I have used it for several days so far and it registers immediately and seems to be accurate. A real help in watering your plants correctly.!

Purchased to monitor watering of a new tree ($$$).Did not want under water, or over water and waste resources.Device is simple to use and appears to be accurate based on my use over the past several weeks.

The XLUX Soil Moisture Meter appears to work. But, like any low-priced product from China, always suspect regarding its quality. That said, it appears to be consistent with its readings according with my own finger readings. The box has a number of soil moisture recommendations but tiny print makes it difficult to read. A separate listing would have been preferable because the box I saved will quickly crumble from use. My last soil meter’s tip broke when I stuck it into a hard plant root. I learned my lesson to treat the meter gently.
