Overall, I'm impressed. My son wanted this to go with a costume and we feel it's a great value for the money. It is quite heavy, telling me it would not break upon the first use. It functions as expected. It fits as expected. It's not super comfortable, but that's expected too. The only downside to any chainmail is that it must be washed to get the fabrication and shipping oil removed.

Received this coif in a timely manner, but upon opening it, I discovered that it was covered in an oil that had to be washed off before it could be used. I'm not sure what type of oil was used, but it smelled like gun oil. After washing it with dawn liquid soap and drying it thoroughly, the oil and most of the smell were gone. When trying it on, I did need to remove a couple of links so that I could push it back off of my head when needed. Some of the links are rather rough in areas so I highly recommend an arming cap or other type of head gear for more comfort.Overall though I am very pleased with the purchase.

It's a real chain coif. I'd wear cloth for underneath. It's heavy and will leave marks on your head, but that only signifies the quality of this product. I received numerous compliments at the Renaissance Festival.

This is a heavy, well made piece of chainmail. I had to open up the face a bit so I could pull back head part as opposed to taking it off.

Overall good product. Came covered in oil and one link was missing.

The item was as i expected. Very nice for the price.
