Excellent purchase
I bought this propeller for my living room - as an aerospace engineer & aspiring pilot it fits in well with the other aviation memorabilia I have decorated that room with. In spite of not being a candidate for Prime's free shipping, the package arrived from the other side of the country in a week. Not bad, considering the delivery window suggested I might have had another ten days to wait. This product is stunning, especially in its attention to detail. The blades of the propeller have imperfections as you might expect on a real propeller, little nicks and such as if it has sucked bits of debris into it on a runway. I was a bit concerned about the metal on the leading edge, which even when zoomed looked like it might be some cheap foil on the product page. Far from it, it's actually a thin gauge sheet, which is nailed to the propeller with actual nails. Run your finger across it (carefully! Some of the metal sticks up a bit and could cut the unwary - not a concern once hung on the wall) and you'll feel the real hardware used. At the hub, the bolts coming through appear very real, each having a castle nut and even a cotter pin.All in all, this is a great product that looks like it came off an old Curtiss Jenny or some other early aircraft. Having more than one of these might be a bit much in a small house, but if I didn't feel that way I'd definitely buy another from this manufacturer. Highly recommended.

This is the propeller you are looking for!
First off, shipping and packaging was great. This was a gift for my husband, an avid aviator. I looked at a few options, but liked the vintage look of this propeller. It didn't disappoint in real life. The metal edging is really what makes this extra special - it looks a tiny bit beat-up, not actually damaged, just enough to look like it actually may have been flown at some point many years ago! The wood was a darker stain than in the photo - I imagine that each one will be slightly different, so just note that if it's important to you.I don't know why anyone would go for a 4ft version if they can have this 6ft version - it just comes across so much more authentic. What is really surprising is the light weight - it's super super light. If you want to carry it around to prove authenticity, that's where it will fail. But if you're putting it up on a wall to be looked at, you will be happy that it's light. It comes with a male/female slide-in style clip, but no screws. Depending on whether you are putting this into studs or drywall, you will have to supply your own screws. We put it up with one screw into a stud, and a small drywall anchor for the other. Total overkill probably, but I reckon this thing will stay in position through an earthquake ;)

Nice Prop but ....
Ok ,,,, I just bought this huge house and as an retired Air Force officer I am going for an industrial decor, You know, its the in thing now; edison style bulbs, gears, cables, etc .... So I have this huge bare concrete central column in my living room and I thought this would be great. The prop came in a long white box. Upon opening I saw it had a couple of dings in the back where the paint had chipped off. Luckily it was in the back and hard to see. The center hub was painted with a shiny black paint and "distressed" with heat I presume so it had a wrinkled appearance. Not really that great looking. Overall, the paint job is really dark and the photo here does not really shows that and I presume that there are differences between individual props. The brass-like metal plating in the leading edge is pretty nice looking. I took the hub plate and flipped it for a nicer look. It is definitely a conversation starter and it is the first thing you notice in the living room. Looks pretty bad ass. Get it!

It's a beautiful piece other than I have no idea how to mount it to my wall. I expected that it would come with the brackets needed or at least instructions. I have no idea what to do with it now that I have no way of hanging it on my wall as was planned.

Great Replica Propeller!
B-Day present from wife. I was going to order the smaller, 3’ or 4’ propeller, but she ordered the 6’. Way cool, looks good and looks authentic. Was going in pool table room, but ran out of wall space. Couldn’t find one in antique shop, so got this one. Recommend.

Prop is darker than pictured. The faceplate in the center is very low quality. The wood used is a very light pine (may have been a 2x6). From a distance it looks okay. I spent 20 years in aviation and expected a bit more. Additionally, when it arrived there was no bracket as advertised. When I requested one (through Amazon), the vendor redirected me to Amazon, who had directed me to the vendor. That was little frustrating.

Mount Design Issues
This propeller looks great. The only issue is that they say that the mounting bracket should be attached to wall studs, but the holes are 1/4" too wide to catch a single stud fully. There is plenty of space on the bracket to move each hole in 1/8" to make mounting easier.Instead, I am heading to Home Depot to get drywall mounting screws for one side. Not a big deal, but for the cost of this thing there should be more care taken in mount design.

Good reproduction
My husband and I were both in Aviation in the Navy so we decided on finding a prop and picture to go together. Prop did come in a different color but we didn't mind it. We debated on flipping the center over or maybe sanding it to give it a lighter look but right now we are going to leave it. Hanging hardware did come with it. However, wealways use our own. We thought the prop went nicely with our picture.
